How to Make Waffles WITHOUT a WAFFLE IRON

See how to make waffles without a waffle iron. I use 2 different methods to make waffles without a waffle iron then I compare them to waffles I made using a traditional waffle iron. The same simple waffle recipe was used in all 3 methods. #waffles #funfoods #waffleiron

hey everyone its James from fun foodsand today I’m gonna show you twodifferent methods of making waffleswithout using a waffle iron so keepwatching and I’ll show you step by stephow to make these the first thing weneed to do is make our batter and to dothis I’m gonna use the same batterrecipe for all the methods that we useto make our waffles so start off with alarge bowl in this large bowl I’m gonnaput 2 cups of flour just all-purposeflour 1/2 a cup of sugar 1 teaspoon ofbaking powder and a dash of salt we’rejust gonna take our dry ingredients andwhisk it up I’m using this whisk whichconverts them to a whiskafter that’s whisked up really goodwe’re gonna just add in our wetingredients to the dry i didn’t mix ourwet ingredients separate you don’t haveto do it but you can we’re gonna add twolarge eggs one and a half cups of milk 8tablespoons of melted butter that’s onestick of butter just whisk this untilit’s all well combined make sure youbreak those eggs up for our next methodwe’re gonna use the silicone mold methodwhat this is this is just a siliconemold that shaped like waffles and whatyou got to do is pre-heat your oven to325 and height and I’m just gonna useabout two of these little spots here youcan do all four if you’re gonna make itthis way but we’re gonna do two of themand I’m just gonna fill it up with ourbatter now I do have it on a cookiesheet just to make it easier for me topull it out of the oven when it’s alldone again if you want to get a hold ofthis silicone mold as well as a fryingpan that has those ridges in itI’m gonna put a link in the descriptionbelow to all the stuff you might needand just take this we’re gonna put thisin the oven at 320 degrees for aboutnine to eleven minutes all right so it’sbeen 15 minutes I’ve had these in theoven it doesn’t look good it doesn’tlook brown enough we can pop these outandI’ll show you what we’re talking abouthere so I’m just gonna try to get theseto come out and they’re not coming outgood and so 320 degrees is not workingwith these yeah so these are a totalfail you can see they’re just fallingapart they’re not cooked all the waythrough but that’s why we try thingssince I still have some more batter leftwhat I’m gonna do is come back to ourbatter come back to our mold and I’mgonna keep it where the mold should benice and hot from the oven and so sincethe mold is nice and hot I’m gonna tryto put our batter in there with it niceand hot I’ve turned my oven to 375degrees Fahrenheit now and see if thatwill helpso spread this out it doesn’t work thistimethen that method is not good so we onlyhave one of these left so hopefully itworks I have the oven at 375 degrees I’mgonna put it in there for I’m gonnacheck it after 9 minutes and we’ll seehow long it takes all right so this timeI had in the oven for about 15 minutesyou can see the other side’s burned upthat’s the side that we scraped off theexcess from from the ones that didn’twork out so now we’re gonna pull thisout I can see around the edges it’sbrowned it looks not done on the top butI think it is though we’re gonna try itand let’s pop this out and see if itlooks goodthere we gonot bad not bad so it took some trialand error but we finally got one for ournext method of making waffles without awaffle iron what I’m going to do is usethis griddle what this is is it’s agriddle that has these lines in theseridges and when they get really hot it’salmost like you’re grilling on a grillso we’re going to let it get really hotthen we’re gonna put some butter on itor some cooking spray and then we’regonna add our batter that simple now ifyou don’t have one of these this isactual a griddle but they do have fryingpans that have these ridges in it so youdon’t have to make a big investment andif I find one that I like I’ll put in alink in the description below where youcan get ahold of them now you want toturn your heat up to medium-high heat oryou know round for hard degreesFahrenheit when it gets nice and hotwe’re gonna spray it with some cookingspray so you really got to make sure itgets hot first so wait until thatcooking spray starts to really bubble upthen we know we can put our batter on itnow that your griddle or frying pan ifyou’re using that has gotten nice andhot what we’re gonna do is just add ourbatter right to it I’m using again abouta cup of batter put it right in themiddle and then you quickly want to turndown your Heat a little bit not much nowthe hard part is knowing when to flipthis and I’m gonna just take the methodI use for making pancakes when it startsto bubble up and the edges look prettystart to brown I’m gonna try to flip itnow and try to get under it really goodit’s hard when you have these griddlesbut we’ll try to get under it good andgive it a nice flipthere you go now we’ll just cook it therest away then so after a couple minutesnow we can take this off of our grilllet’s check it out turn it over and seeif it cooked well pretty good and justtake this put this on our plate and thisis one method right here we’re gonna tryit out same time we try out the rest ofthem and since we have to have somethingto compare these recipes to I’m gonnamake one using the traditional waffleiron and we’re doing this that was usingthe same batter and everything so I’vealready got it nice and hot we’re goingto spray it with some cooking spray addabout a cup of our batterand coke all right so it’s all donelet’s flip this over there we go putthis on a platenow that these are all done let’s lookat these individually based on the waythat we cook them and this right here isour traditional waffle made using awaffle iron and you can tell it’s crispyaround the outside it’s kind of firm andits really nice and who hasn’t had aregular waffle made from Wafaa waffleiron so that looks pretty good now we’regoing to compare our other two that wemade using different methods to that oneso on this one this is the one we usedusing a mold and you can see it lookslike a waffle and it’s real crispyaround this part right here it’s prettycrispy and in the inside it’s not ascrispy right and the only downside ofusing the mold is if you flip it over onthe back side it looks like it’sundercooked but I don’t think it iswe’re gonna see in a minute when wetaste it but it looks undercooked on theoutside on the downside we’retraditional waffle both sides are cookedexactly the same now on our grill waffleor grill waffle that we made you can seeit kind of is dark on this side andlighter on this side that’s justprobably the position I put it on thegrill it’s it has the ridges in it ofcourse it’s not gonna be that perfectchecker pattern Ridge and on thebackside you can see it looks kind ofunknown around the edges but that’sbecause you couldn’t really push it downafter this side has been cooked first itcan’t really get down all the way and Ijust had to try to push it down with myspatula so that’s the downside of thatbut next what do you say we try theseout for the taste test and see how theycompare well now it’s time for the tastetest we’re gonna try each one of theseseparate and see how it compares to ourtraditional waffle so I like butter andsyrup on my waffle so we’re gonna justput some butter and syrup on each one oftheseand here we go we’re gonna start outwith our grill one first so I’m justgonna cut a little piece of this andtake a bite and see how it looks tastesjust like a waffle obviously because wemade the batter the same the ridges ofcourse you can tell it doesn’t have thatchecker pattern ridges but taste wiseit’s there it tastes just like a waffleso that I’ll say is a high eight out often now let’s try our mold the one wemade with the mold has that Chris penison this side but this side is not socrispy the inside kind of concerns me alittle bit but let’s try this and seehow this one tastes definitely tasteslike a waffle but again it has thatChris penis only on that one side thattop side that was face down the otherside is not as crispy it’s very spongyand it doesn’t have that so I would sayout of the two methods that we used thegrill worked so much better than themold but maybe you can play with it andget the right temperature in the righttime and it might work out great so herewe go just as a control group here we’regoing to try our regular one made withwaffle ironyeah that’s the best overall but I wouldsay an 8 out of 10 for the one on thegrill probably a 5 out of 10 for the oneon the using the mold and of course tenout of ten for ten out of ten for thewaffle well thanks for watching I hopeyou enjoyed watching me make thesewaffles without using a wha fire if youenjoyed this video hit that like buttonalso check out this video right here Ithink you may enjoy that and if you havea suggestion of how to make waffleswithout a waffle iron write it in thecomments below and until then I’ll seeyou next time traditional waffle I can’ttalk today I’m
