The Great Canadian Baking Show season 07 is the latest season of the reality TV show that features 10 amateur bakers from across Canada who compete in a series of themed culinary challenges that celebrate their diverse backgrounds, families, and communities. The show is hosted by Ann Pornel and Alan Shane Lewis, and judged by Kyla Kennaley and Bruno Feldeisen. The show airs on CBC on Sunday nights at 8:00 p.m. ET, and is also available to stream on CBC Gem.
The season premiered on October 1, 2023, with Cake Week, where the bakers had to make a patterned roll cake, a Boston cream pie, and a top forward cake. The season will have 10 episodes that air weekly, each lasting 90 minutes. The season will also visit three continents and eight countries, including a first-time visit to Slovenia. The season will also have some new twists and features, such as no non-elimination legs, private U-Turn votes, and a live premiere event at Hot Docs Cinema.
The season will showcase the personal stories, skills, and creativity of the bakers, who come from various backgrounds and professions, such as a software developer, a mental health nurse practitioner, a nuclear engineer, and a high school teacher. The season will also feature various challenges, dates, and eliminations, as well as the signature bake, the technical bake, and the show stopper. The season will culminate with the crowning of Canada’s Best Amateur Baker.
