Christmas Cookies + More Bake With Me! So Good, Good Enough!

Hey party people! Thanks so much for hanging out with me while I share this Christmas cookies and treats / dessert bake with me! I always have a great time baking with you, especially for the holidays! Today I am whipping up a new recipe from the Griffith’s Family Cookbook- the brownie marshmallow number, some snowball cookies aka italian wedding cookies, or Russian tea cookies? Who knows… they’re so good. Also whipping up some of my freezer chocolate chip cookies, and brownie crinkle cookies from a box! Yes, have to make something easy for myself! OH and some sugar coated pecans!! Such a simple recipe! I hope you had a good time baking with me / hanging out with me while I bake some christmas goodies for my neighbors!

hello party people today we’re gonnamake some cookies Christmas decoratingI have nothing festive on but there’s notime there’s no time we’re running outof time it’s Christmas Eve the Sun GoesDown and like 2 p.m. I tried to filmyesterday at no joke 10 p.m. I thoughtI’d wait am I gonna have time to makecookies from money if this is the mostimportant time I mean this is the mostimportant thing to do during theholidays am i rightcookies I’m making these for ourneighbors / bringing them to all theChristmas festivities that we’re goingto we’ve got a Christmas Eve party wehave two Christmases to go to tomorrowand then a bonus Christmas the day afterso hopefully I make enough I’m gonnadouble all these recipes what are wemaking you might be asking yourself theclassics really snowball cookies I meancome onthe dough is eggless so you can eat asmuch as you want not that that everstops me anyway Salmonella I dare youbrownie crinkle cookies another holidayclassic it’s a fave oh my one of thebest cookies I’ve ever had I found outabout the brownie crinkle cookie at alike Christmas cookie trade what do theycall that when you like go in with onecookie and you leave with like 50different assortments anyway I said whatthe heck this is my favoritesugar-coated pecans always a holidaystaple and then classic chocolate chipcookies if I don’t get to making thebatter I still have some frozen fromwhen I was pregnant and made a ton I’mnot gonna lie I’ve been eating thecookie dough don’t tell anyone okayOh in bonus I got this Griffiths familywhere I was living book oh my goshMissy sent this to me and good lord Iwas flipping through it it was like Alexsaid what’s your favorite thing that yougot I was like the recipe book you knowlike why is this so exciting I’m gettingold okay that’s when you know you’re inyour 30s you like recipe books I found aspecial recipe that I thought I wouldbringto my holiday gatherings if I can findit here it ismarshmallow brownies say what so I amgoing I know you’re not supposed to makesomething new to bring to places but Idon’t care have you met me I don’t carewe’re just gonna roll up our sleeves youlike my ranch sweater I guess I do havesomething festive on hey we’re gonnamake this and then all the cookies Ihave had the butter sitting outbasically for 24 hours is that healthy Ithink it’s fine so what do I need I’mjust gonna get it you know the bakingessentials and my crooked I’m so sorryflour oh my the way I just clean out mybaking cabinet listen to the angels singjust kidding it’s not that great Ishared it with you on like Instagram butyou know I think that’s a little meanout of there oh maybe some vanillaalmond maybe oh this is flour I hope Ihave enough flour oh I’m pretty sure Ihave some in my freezer outside okayyeah butter Oh many marshmallows oh butwait I’m gonna make two of them I needtwo bags we were trying to hide themaway from Wentworth because he likesmells the sugar and can get intoanything this morning he got intosprinkles and I was like where’d you myneeds I still have no idea where theycame from13:17 meet a couple pans found them Ithink I know I have another one with alid but I just don’t feel like openingthe box oh I got this for Thanksgivingand never used it I guess there’s notime like the presentI don’t even know why this is as good atime as any how I might have to washthis aren’t IOhfine I’ll wash it if you were in here Iprobably wouldn’t have done that okayI’m gonna need a couple of bowls – I’mso prepared I’m at breadwho says cooking isn’t cardio sugar saltsugar wait whatit says in a medium bowl beat sugar soldand eggs together what about the butterOh melt the butter things are gettinginterestingI don’t feel like melting the butterthis is more extensive than browniesfrom a box okay sugar salt mix for theeggs yeah oh good lordtwo cups of sugar 2 cups okay hey listenif the griffithseat it it’s they look good right also Irecently started watching Ruby she’slike my ultimate favorite she’s like whoI want to be when I grow up/ I’m already grown so there’s thatthere ghosts that trainoh gosh those two cups I got to stopmyself can i some sugar water clean thecabinet I have no idea where stuff isanyway what I was trying to say is Iwant to be equipment can they adopt meinto their family I feel like everyonein that family is just so like that youknownot this oh I also cleaned out mysilverware drawer all kinds of cleaningand organizing going onin a whiff enough because cleaning isthe best part of the holiday season am irightoh my gosh the guests are coming overand make sure under the stink is cleanthey’re not going to look under yoursink and if they do they’re crazy thinkthat’s on them not you I don’t know howlong I’m supposed to let that go for butit’s looking pretty nice one and a halfcups of flour you add you shouldprobably add this separately like theflour and baking powder together buthave you met me then one and a halfteaspoons of baking powder with that’mother-of-pearl I just realized I’mdoubling the recipe but I’m not doublingthe recipe darn it you know what howdoes your holiday going it’s been prettytricky for me to get in the holidayspirit and I don’t know if it’s becauseI have a newborn like three other kidswith all of their birthdays withinThanksgiving and then just afterChristmas it’s a lot it’s a lot tohandle and then gifts on top of that somany things the holidays are busy enoughand then add in the chaos of our familyand we when you see Christmas lightslast night though that was nice really Ijust want to talk to you andprocrastinate not making a second batchwhat did they don’t turn out good maybeI just want to make one batch am ijustifying my mistake I’m just gonnamelt the butter ghosts and milk butteron a saucepan and add the cocoa who hastime to wash a pot one cup of butter andtwo cups of sugar how could this nottaste delicious you know you can greasethe pans with those four tablespoons ofcocoa powder the cocoa powder is gettingme in the holiday spirit this smellslike Christmas to me chocolate justmakes me happy I have to clean mymicrowave before the guests come I haveto sweep and Bob but who cares oh mygosh speaking of who cares there are acouple people that I have yet to buygifts for like I said it’s Christmas Eveam I gonna run to the store and get themsomething probably but really at thispoint I just feel like whatever I haveis good enough because who cares that’snot what Christmas is about my favoritepart of Christmasit’s not the gifts it’s not like Iexpect other people to get gifts for meI just enjoy spending time with them soI’m thinking they probably have the samementality as me they don’t care aboutthe ten dollar gift I’m gonna get themthey care about spending time with meand my family so I’m saying whatever togifts cuz I’m over it I’m over it what’snextbut oh I should have preheat the ovendang it don’t look at my microwave it’sa mess do i preheat it to oh it doesn’tsay 350 I’m sure they had someoneproofread this to make sure thetemperature was on there alrightmelt butter and cocoa then add vanillathis better be so good how can it not beliterally two cups of sugar andchocolate all right that’s nice andmelted and then the vanilla I don’t havevanilla extract but I do have this fancyvanilla bean paste just gonna toss someof that in there hmm you know what thiswas fairly simple oh my gosh that cocoabutter smells delicious I’m kind ofupset at myself for not doubling therecipe I’m just preoccupied I have beenvery overwhelmed lately that may havesomething to do it was pardon or justthe holidays I don’t know there has beena time in my life where I have been sooverwhelming stressed out that my bodybroke out in a rashit’s crazy what our bodies can do youknow I mean are you breaking out in arash you can blame the holidays am Isupposed to mix this what’s happeningwait spread batter onto a cookie sheet Ineed a cookie sheet too bad mmm thissmells so good oh wow yep yep this mightbe a holiday staple after this you knowyou know what my isn’t there like onetree at the holidays that you alwayslook forward to whether you’re like auntBetsy always makes it and you’re like ohI hope aunt Betsy brings this today forme that dish Ihad in years but it used to be my auntJudy’s but I don’t even know what it’scalled because I tried to look it up onPinterest it’s like a pudding with somekind of maybe graham cracker in themiddle of it but it was always so likeweird but delicious at the same time Idon’t know the recipe if I had it Iwould share it with you guysthis is taken longer than I thought tomix okay and might I add it is lookingdelicious I don’t want to get thiscookbook dirty it’s inevitable thoughreally your bet gonna grease the bottomof the pan wait now I’m wondering isthis big enough you betyou’ll work with what you have okaythat’s the motto that’s my motto goodenough so we’re gonna toss this in oh Iwish I was a Griffis okay 25 to 30minutes it took me about five hours tofind these walnuts finally found themand then I started the sugar balls she’sso balls right in there cobble and Irealized I need to make a double batchof the Bronx let me whip that up reallyquick two cups of sugar salt eggs let’sdouble it that worked out no shells it’sall I care about one cup of butter cocoapowder one baking powder can’t forgetthe vanilla this perfect oh my goshthere’s frosting I need to make afterthis my head is spinning it’s gonna beso good will this ruin the eggsdo I need to temperate it’s not in theinstructions I’m making a mess over hereyou guys can see how this comes togetherpretty crazy sure I could put this youput my KitchenAid attachment I don’tknow why I’m doing it by hand because Ilike to waste my time I guess time meansnothing on Christmas am i right oh yeahlook at thatOh perfect timing the oven is ready[Music]oh look at thatmaybe I should have used a cookie sheetlike the instructions said I will goodenough moving on finally put thesnowballs are nice gluten free or dothey have sugar I wrote down the recipeand buy sugar I meant flour and it doesokay I figure if I a lot myself 20minutes per recipe I’ll be in here for24 days 6 to long how many recipes do Ihave 5 maybe 10 minutes a recipe I’mpretty sure I need my food processor forthis into the labyrinthoh my gosh you guys that cabinet for meis like Monica’s closet okayI thought about organizing it and then Ithought no two cups of walnut and youcrush them and if you don’t have a foodprocessor or don’t feel like washing itor pulling it out you can do this in aziplock bag and then beat it with arolling pin just as good you know I justrealized I want to double this recipetoo so you can never make enough ofthese are so goodmy thing oh that’s magic right there I’mjust gonna dump it in two more cups andI feel like my dad used to make these orsome kind of cookies similar to this andwe called them surprise cookies becausesurprise they’re deliciousI know people have different names forthem that’s all I’m saying I’m startingto make butter here I just I lost mymind and just let it go oh why did I dothat I hope that doesn’t ruinme anyway a rose by any other name am iright just as sweet yeah that’s butterright there whatever gonna need fivecups of flourare you sure you don’t have five cups offlour in here but we can see what we dohave I’m gonna have to go to the garageand get more nothing can be easyKenneth at least I stocked up right Ican at least be happy about that I don’thave to run to the store or order onInstagram five cups oh how many did Ialready add two three good wonderfulgreat two sticks of butter but thatmeans you’re an entire pound did I losea stick this recipe is gonna be just asgood as brownies this is a lot of butterI don’t know if my KitchenAid can handleall this but uh I don’t think you’reready for this jelly and look one cup ofbutter I mean sugar am I supposed tocream it whatever we’re just gonna rollwith it I don’t think so things aremaking things are getting messy nowlooking pretty this is what we’reworking with I made a mess grab thetowel oh my gosh a big hunk of chunkfell out that’s good enough right handsdo that done in there I think so looksgood I’ll show you the thing I haven’tslept yet all of this deliciousness okaygood so now is the fun partokay I don’t know if I rolled them intoballs first and then put them in thefridge or last time I just cooked himright awayI’m a mess this is the movie I’m justgonna cook him right away because whohas time to wait for the dough to chillknow what thisis what Christmas is all about this workgood whoa don’t spread out when you’recooking so I’m gonna put them prettyclose together and this dough is crazysoft so I’m gonna chill the doughbecause last time I made them not thatit really matters but the bottoms theyweren’t like snowballs they were likesnow domes the bottoms got flat I meantasty nonetheless am i right I said Iwas gonna spread them out but I’mputting them exactly on the circles I’mpretty sure you can also make thesecookies with almonds or pecans I thinklast time I ate them with pecans I don’tknow though because I looked back at therecipe it might be in my recipe bookeven and it said walnuts so I boughtsome walnuts so there’s that what areyou guys planning on doing for NewYear’s since I know this video will beout just for for New Year’s New Year’sright am I saying that right wetypically don’t really do much for NewYear’s new year happy new yearright sleep deprivation is still gettingto me okay guys a lot of you were likeoh my gosh how are you doing it withtwenty kidswell I only have four kids so there’sthat but also I’m not I’m not doing itall I just do what I can I think doctorbottom line we all just do the best thatwe canthat’s all we can do you know all rightI don’t know if these silicone mats aregonna work out I feel like as I go theballs are getting bigger so I’m justgonna finish rolling the balls I haveseven minutes to do so to keep up withmy 20-minute per cookie but technicallythis is two batches of cookies but notreally it’s one recipe whatever I had toget the flour and stuffI’m on my way I’m in motion let’s go tothe oceanlet’s go outside we can hang out on thebeach without breathingisn’t that amazinga nor’easter will be chilling and havinga good good time[Music]my friendsmake[Music]so it took me a little guys I looked everywherefor the walnuts here’s another bagmother so you know how sugar-coatedpecans are like fifty dollars when yougo to a fair you’re not going to believehow simple they are to make I didn’twrite the recipe down because they’rejust so simple I thought I couldremember it this my recipe book is sadthis is sad one day I’ll organize it oneday all right here it is sugar-coated Pcons do you guys say pecans or pecansbecause this is a pecan to me because myparents grew up in the north no but Iknow of yourself if you grew up in thesouth you say pecan I don’t okay movingon double this remembered why itwas in there because in my head at thetime it made sense to put it in therewhat’s that noise again nails on achalkboard oh okay this cinnamon puts mein the holiday spirit because it justfeels like the holidays really it soundsmore like fall than Christmas you knowit’s less Foresti and more Starbuckspumpkin spice two tablespoons just seemslike I need more anyway did I finish mystory I put the glue the next to thecinnamon because my plan was to makecinnamon ornaments I ran out of timetime we took we made other ornaments youwant to see any warrants that we makehere they are crafting is so much funit’s like 10% the child’s work 90% theadults work this took me anembarrassingly long time to put togetherwhoever gets these from us butter loveus forever and appreciate my handiworkwhatever needs so I just realizedwhere’s the songnot gone to the bathroom since thismorning that’s what happens during theholidays you just get so busy you holdit all day you mix this up in the bagit’s super simple the brownies arereally holding up my cooking processwhat’s the one activity that you doduring the holidays that make you feellike yes I love this I don’t haveanother Bowl and I don’t want a dirtyone I need to separate an egg I need anegg for me it has seen Christmas lightsand we did that last night and it was ajoy I need the white in this bowl yeahwhat am I going to do with this egg yolkI guess use it for breakfast tomorrowbut will i Lord oh you know what that’swhat happens when you don’t listen torecipes because it’s said to use acookie sheet this is my home no one onceeverything is coated you just throw itin the bag give it a good jr. oh thosebrownies it’s been like an hour theedges are crusty but the middle is notwhat do I do about it should I take itout by that one guy who won AmericanIdol what’s his name the country whenwhen it’s time to just throw them on apan cook them at 325 for one hour andyou stir them up every 20 minutes I it’sgonna take me hours before they’re readyto go in and weI’ll show you the recipe there it istake a screenshot of it if you feel soinclined – all right I guess we’ll takea break and just clean everything we’regonna move along- I’m not gonna make the chocolate chipcookies I’m just gonna throw in myfrozen onesOh ro so I got dough all over my bookbut since I have it open I’ll show youthe cookie recipe it’s one of even you know putting these inthe fridge I wasn’t thinkingthat’s my life don’t I cook those Idon’t know 20 minutes oh my word youguys I even pulled out this apron acousin gave it to me and I thought ohthis will be great I can wear it when Ido my might cook with me you know whatit reminds me of I used to work at anItalian restaurant and I used to have towear an apron not as cute as this thoughoh five minutes I except this timeweren’t good what are we doing over heremelted butter I was talking to somepeople and thinking I should make my owncookbook the people who ever speaking tothey were rooting me onso I would say you are a bad influenceanyway what reminded me of that is Ijust took a thumbnail in this thinkingyeah you can make it I can make acookbook and 1/3 cup of milk I’m gonnahave so many dishes to do it’s not thatbad how about that mix that okay I needa lot of powdered sugar quite sure Imight have to go back to the garageagain my favorite place here I go here Igo again I kind of want to be more thanfriends okay is that three cups okaythis is less like frosting and more likea drizzle oh but maybe once you put itin the fridge you’re like cartoons upyou know of all that butter Oh mix wellusing hand mixer now you tell meoh it’s thickening up a little bit as Igo oh my gosh wait wait wait wait waitthe marshmallows you’re supposed tospread the marshmallows on topRoundy’s while they’re cooling beforethey cool before they cool maybe if Iput the lid on it’ll trap in the heat alittle bitif this recipe turns out it’s going tobe a miracle we taste the frosting it’sokay that’s okay I should share with youmy brownie frosting recipe to die forit’s thicker than that I don’t feel likeputting this away right now so I’m notgoing to I need some waterlook at us pockets thank after literally foursticks of butter in one pan sugarcookies are done and they look reallygood these don’t look as good are theysupposed to have the crack on top Idon’t know hmm I don’t know who careshere’s the fun part of the recipe yourscoop supposed to make it snow this isthe fun whimsical part and the messypart you know what I took my apron offbecause it was getting too hot huh isthat
