hi everyone it’s me so today we’re gonnamake pumpkin pie I’m leaving likepumpkin pie for those of you who don’tknow me my name is Alaina and I’m aCanadian living here in what is actuallya sunny day in inOctober and your girl forgot I wastalking to my mom one day and she waslike oh yeah I’m doing Thanksgivingdinner grandma’s coming around and Ithought oh no I didn’t do a video so Imiss Canadian Thanksgiving because Iforgot about it however the Americanscelebrate Thanksgiving in November soI’m gonna do a Thanksgiving relatedvideo now and just pretends that I’mAmericanso basically I hate baking I don’t likeit it fills me with anxiety I amsweating but I thought it wouldn’t beThanksgiving without doing a pumpkin pieI don’t even like pumpkin pie so thiswhy my goodness who cares now I got allof my ingredients stuff even from mycupboard because I already had it whatabout it from tesco accepts the pumpkinI got off of Amazon and I got same-daydeliverygod bless Jeff Bezos now I looked okay Ihaven’t read it but I skimmed a pumpkinpie recipe online there’s actually apumpkin pie recipe on the can so Ithought why don’t we just do this andsee what happens so without further adolet’s go I am full of panic right nowhuh okay how do i oh no I don’t think Ihave a can openeroh my god I don’t think I have a canopener guess what I don’t have a goddamncan opener so I’m gonna go to the storewe’re gonna buy one single can openerand then I’m coming home to film thisvideo you better subscribe to my channelgive this video a thumbs up or I willlegitimately kill myself just kiddingthat’s not funny but also[Music]shall we try this again I’m dead insidethank you so what do I do now let’s lookat the cam okay in a large mixing bowlwhisk together the sugars flour salt andspices let’s start thereI got a mixing bowl and I have anassortment of other things which I hopethey’re the right ones because I am NOTleaving the house again today once isenoughI hope you’ve ever been to an Asda inthe middle of the day but it’s notpleasant this is a really strangeconversion and it must have beenoriginally in cups because it’s anAmerican recipe because we need 106grams of brown sugar I don’t reallyremember how to use these scales veryvery much I think that’s right I don’tknow what did I just say 106 brown sugarso I just got Billington’s dark naturalunrefined cane sugar because that’s alife is fine okay I hope that worked outproperlyoh don’t know so what did it say so wegot brown sugar we need 99 grams ofgranulated white sugar of which Idecided to go with some of this 99 gramsI got 99 problems and baking is one ofthem that’s a funny joke for the youngpeople watching hi all six of you that’sabout as close as we’re gonna get it nowthis recipe says just 1 tablespoon ofall-purpose flour which I feel confidentin doingnice one good job Elena you’re so goodat baking I know then we’re going to doa half a teaspoon of saltYUM one of my personal favorites now fora pumpkin pie to get its real taste weneed a ton of spices so we are usingground cinnamon please tell me okay wegot ground cinnamonwe got ground ginger we also have groundcloves is that one too and nutmeg groundnutmeg I don’t mean things thank you forplayingnow what’s tricky about the spices isfor some of them like for ground cloveswe need 1/8 of a teaspoon I don’t knowwhat that looks likelet’s start from the top first 1teaspoon of ground cinnamon done then wewant 1 teaspoon of ground ginger doneand we want half a teaspoon of groundnutmeg are you still with me that willmake it a bit much then to top it alloff we need 1/8 of a teaspoon groundcloves I think we’re just gonna do acouple one of these and call it a daydone now they also suggest you put alittle bit of ground black pepper inthere but to be honest I don’t care sono okay so we have our spices and stuffmixing like haphazardly and it smellslike Thanksgiving I’m so sorry about theglare on the glasses I literally can’tget around that because otherwise Ican’t see and I’m already not a goodBaker so me baking without glassesNo so we need three large eggs onecannabis and 283 grams of light cream orevaporated milk 283 grams perfect okay283 remember that numberI got single cream from Tesco I couldn’tfind light cream and we’re not doingevaporated milk pleaseokay so that’s just under 1 cup of thesea lot too because I didn’t know what -83 grams looked like so so sue me thenwe’re gonna do three eggs wish me luckand finally we used to open this bad boynow I was just jumping in head because Ihaven’t preheated the oven and thisactually teeth tells you to lay out ashortbread pastry which we’re not gonnado I’m going to show you my thingy in aminute you can probably see it but ittalks about you have to cook it at 220for 15 minutes and then cook it at 180for like 50 minutes I’m assuming that’sto solidify the crust a bit better butbecause I have a premade one I’m notreally sure what to do so I’m just gonnago ahead and I’m gonna preheat the ovento 180 okay so you’re gonna hear it areyou readymoment of truth if this thing works uhpumpkin looks disgusting have a look atthat anybody have kids this basicallylooks like baby food yuckoh yeah there are some recipes online ifyou feel a bit adventurous then you canbuy a pumpkin and then you like sugar itand I don’t know what else happens butyou use a real pumpkin to get yourpumpkin guts but to be honest youcouldn’t pay me to do that so no but Ithought for a Thanksgiving video pumpkinpie is pretty much like has to be doneplus I’ve never made it before so Ithought it would be funny so here we aremaking big regrets now you’re going togo ahead and this disgusting concoctionis gonna go in with our dry stuff why dopeople do this for fun oh so I have myconcoction I don’t really have very manycamera angles in this kitchen but let metell you looking a bit liquidy not sureif that’s normal so we’re gonna put thatdown now I bought this pie thing fromTesco it was the only one that wasavailable and I sure as hell if not makesmell pie crust so the instructions talkabout like rolling out pie crusts andcrimping it and flash cooking it in theoven at a high heat and then cooking ata low heat and I don’t really know if Iwant to do that with the pie crustthat’s like already solidified and Iwish that I could have some help butthat’s the beauty of YouTube nobody’sthere for you so what I’m going to do isI’m gonna go straight ahead pour mydisgusting stuff into this which lookslike there’s way too much so that’s funand now I’m going to go ahead and andcook it on the lower heat I’ll set atimer for 50 minutes and we’ll just haveto see what happensall right this is the joy of bakingthere is no joy all right can you see mycrust I’m going to go ahead and startpouring I hope supposed to beand um so I took it out of the oven I’mnot really sure I don’t really know I’mjust very overwhelmed so I think I’mgonna go ahead and give it a cut in andsee what happenswhat’s the worst that can happen it’snot cooked and if that’s the worst thingthat’s happened in in me baking a piethen that’s fine I don’t know if youknow my skill level it’s not high solet’s go ahead and crack this boy openshall we oh all the the crust is justfalling apart I don’t know about thiscan you see it so it’s very strange thetop portion is browned and solidifiedand hard which I don’t know if it’ssupposed to be I don’t remember itlooking like that and the inside isquite gooey I mean it’s probably notdone we realize that that’s fine I don’treally care so let’s just dive rightinto this shall weHappy Thanksgivingthat tastes like pumpkin pie what hashappened so this is strange becauseagain the top look it that’s it that’sthe top skin it just comes off that’sweird but the actual taste of the insidethe guts of the pumpkin pie tastes likepumpkin pie it’s a little bit strangebecause normally I would eat a pumpkinpie cold not like fresh out of the ovenso that’s a little bit weird but ittastes like it’s supposed towhy is that if anything I think itshould cook more so the the insides area little bit more done but any bakerswhy does it get this weird skin on thetop but I’ll tell you guys I’m actuallypretty impressed I’m impressed withmyself good job so that was my first andlast attempt at a pumpkin pie I hope youguys have a lovely Thanksgiving if youcelebrate it to all my Canadians I hopeyou had a good one I know I’m a bit latebut just pretend I’m American I’m gonnago ahead and throw this out once anybodywants it anybody I want a weird heavyskinned pumpkin pie because I don’treally although was this a successsub what I am NOT a baker by literallyany means so the fact that I havesomething that kind of resembles a pieI’m really proud of the taste I think ishow it’s supposed to taste I don’treally like pumpkin pie so it’s been areally long time since I’ve had one butthis tastes like it’s supposed to theonly thing I don’t understand is why ithas this in skin on the top and Iprobably should have cooked it for alittle bit more for the inside so thenthe skin would go even darker and Idon’t knowhow that works anyway that’s it for meI’m gonna leave now hope you
