How to make a homemade pumpkin pie in 3 easy steps!!!



Anything homemade is usually the best and this pie is no different. Forget the pies at the stores which are full of preservatives and fake ingredients. This pumpkin pie will win over your family and friends and will hopefully become a new holiday tradition!

Ingredients:
1 small 8″-10″ pumpkin
12oz. evaporated milk
3 eggs
3/4c packed brown sugar
1tsp. ground cinnamon
1tsp. ground ginger
1tsp. ground nutmeg
1/2tsp. salt
1/4tsp. ground cloves

Directions:
Cut pumpkin in half, scrap all the seeds and bake for 40-45 minutes. Once baked, scrape all the pumpkin “meat” into a food processor and blend down into a puree.

Remove puree from blender and place in a mixing bowl. Add ALL remaining ingredients, whisk or blend. Be careful when blending, you can potentially add in too much air which will give the top of the pie a funny look (like mine did). Line the pie tin with your choice of crust and slowly pour in pumpkin mixture.

Bake pie @ 425° for 15 minutes, then reduce temperature to 350° and bake for another 45 minutes. Remove the pie and let sit for at least 2 hours.

Bam! Done! It literally is that easy. Be sure to comment on how yours turned out.

with the holidays just around the cornerfriends family a food and drink aregonna be plentiful so what better way toimpress your people then by bringing ahomemade pumpkin pie to Thanksgiving orChristmas dinner to make this pie we’regonna need ingredients like a pumpkinpie crust some basic spices eggs and apie tin so let’s run to the store realquick and grab those things[Music][Music]okay step 1 turn your oven on instead offor 350 so making a pumpkin pies youwant to use a smaller pumpkin these arecold these are actually called pumpkinpie pumpkins these yield about two twocups of pureed pumpkin you don’t want touse the big ones that you get aHalloween doesn’t make far too muchpumpkin and so just as any other pumpkinyou want to use a sharp knife and Ialways just come in just like you dowith the pumpkins at Halloween cut ahole in the top make things a littleeasier[Music]some people cook it with the seeds andthe innards in I’m gonna go ahead andscrape mine out I think it just makes ita little bit easier once you once youbaked italright once you’ve got the seeds allcleaned out and cleaned off the floor goahead and grab you some foil cookiesheet and place the pumpkins skin sideup okay once your oven is to temperatureyou want to go ahead and grab thepumpkinput them in the oven bake timelet’s do I’m gonna do at least 40minutes so we will come back in 39all right I’ve let these sit for acouple minutes and then what you want todo is take a fork and just score thepumpkinif you’ve ever cooked a spaghetti squashthis is kind of the same way that youyou would remove the meat from thespaghetti squash I mean even at tenminutes the pumpkin is still pretty warmthat’s coming out nicely if you’rewondering about my finger I cut it witha potato peeler took the tip of myfinger off as well as some of thefingernail so I’ve got that thing allcovered up it’s it’s healing but that’squite a mess anyways go ahead and doboth halves of your pumpkin like thisand I’m just gonna put that put all themeat in a bowl here just to keep it offthe cutting board so I have room to workalright so for the pumpkins as you cansee that does make more than two cupsbut two cups is what the recipe callsfor and we’re gonna go ahead and measureit out specifically the two cups andthen put it in the blender to emulsifyitall right next to another figure littlethe ninja or your food processor andblend this down to almost a pureso once you’ve got your pumpkin to apureego ahead and transfer it over to a bowlso you can start mixing all the otherother ingredients okay next you want toadd in the whole can of condensed milkthe recipe I originally used called fortwo eggs but if you’ve ever noticed thatthere’s big cracks on the top of pumpkinpies it is because there is two eggsprotip use three next you want to add3/4 of a cup of brown sugar that’s about3/4 of a cup one teaspoon of groundgingerone teaspoon of ground cinnamon 1teaspoon of ground nutmeg 1/4 teaspoonof ground cloves and half a teaspoon ofsalt all right next get your blender outand blend up the puree and all the otherin Guam[Music]for my pies I always just go to thestore buy the pre-made pie crust unlessyou like in your own home be carefulwhen you’re unrolling it you do not wanta tear a hole in it if you tear a holein it the pie filling will will seepthrough that hole and then you’ll have asoggy a soggy crust I’ve never triedmaking my own crust maybe that’ll methat’s something I’ll do next year butjust for the sake of easeI usually just buy my own crust what I’mdoing here is I’m I’m pushing the thepie crust to the edge of the tin youwant it to be nice and smooth on thatthe edge around the tin you don’t wantto press too hard again you’ll you couldtear a hole in it and you will have alittle bit of crust hanging over somepeople snip it what I tend to do is seeif I can get in here with the big cameraI just take my middle finger and push itin towards the peyten and pinch it withmy thumb and index finger so next whatwe’re going to do just take your piefilling after you’ve beat it well withyour mixer slowly pour it into the piecrustlike I said one pumpkin will make onepie and if you want to make two piesjust double the recipe earlier when wewere cooking the pumpkin we had it at350 we want to go ahead and bump thetemperature up to 425 okayovens at 425 we’re gonna put the pie infor 15 minutesall right once the timer goes off dropyour baking temperature back to 350 andcook or you set your timer for 40minutesalright I’ll just let that sit for abouttwo hours and cool down do that was Ledoand there you gopumpkin pie homemade and all it needsnow is whipped cream alright now for thetaste testI’m excited about this part manI can’t say enough about how easy thisis the crust has turned out really niceit’s not too thick it’s not too thinit’s not it’s not a soggy crust thepumpkin pie itself has nice texture it’skind of like that hard puddingconsistency that you want in a pumpkinpie
