Baked Mozzarella with Hot & Spicy Cranberry Sauce ● Cheese Pie ● Cheese in the oven

Hello again to all owls! Today we’re cooking a fantastic dish. Just by looking at it, you’ll be already wildly hungry. Today we have baked mozzarella with hot & spicy cranberry sauce.

Ingredients:

– 1 layer of puff pastry (≈ 250 g)
– 1 whole piece of mozzarella (≈ 250 g)
– 100 g cranberries
– 1 tsp. honey
– 2 tsp. sugar
– 50 ml of water
– A pinch of chili pepper
– ½ tsp. Provencal herbs
– Salt
– Vegetable oil
– 1 tbsp. of milk
– A pinch of sugar
– And one owl egg 🙂

FOR BAKED MOZZARELLA

1. Defrost the dough and form a round layer out of it.

2. Wrap the mozzarella tightly in the dough.

3. Grease the baking sheet with vegetable oil; place a circle of baking paper on the baking sheet and grease it again.

4. Beat one owl egg lightly with a pinch of sugar and a little milk. Cover the pie with this mixture.

5. Be sure to make a hole or cut at the very top of the pie for steam to escape.

6. Bake the pie for 40-50 minutes at 180 °C.

FOR HOT & SPICY CRANBERRY SAUCE

1. Pour 100 g of cranberries into a saucepan. Add a glass of water, a couple of teaspoons of sugar and a teaspoon of honey. Put the saucepan on low heat and begin to cook, stirring occasionally with an owl spatula.

2. After a few minutes, salt and add Provencal herbs.

3. After another minute or two, add a pinch of chili pepper.

4. In total, the sauce is cooked for about 10 minutes — until it thickens.

5. Remove the saucepan from heat, and while the sauce is hot, make it smooth using an immersion blender and pour into a gravy boat.

6. You must eat quickly, the cheese is leaking out!

7. Be sure to pour each piece of the pie with sauce or dip each bite in it.
