NOW FOR THIS DELICIOUS RECIPE:
ORANGE SLICE COOKIES
Orange Slice Cookies
1 1/4 CUPS BROWN SUGAR
1 CUP SHORTENING
3 EGGS
1 TSP. VANILLA
2 1/2 CUPS FLOUR
1/2 TSP. SALT
1 TSP. BAKING POWDER
1 TSP. SODA
1 CUP NUTS
1 CUP CHOPPED ORANGE SLICE CANDY

Add sugar & shortening and beat until creamy. Add eggs-mix well. Add vanilla, salt, baking powder, and soda-mix well. Add flour (1/2 cup at a time) mixing after each addition. Add nuts and candy, mix. Drop by teaspoons onto greased cookie sheet and bake at 375 for 12 minutes. Take out and cool 3-4 minutes. Place cookies on a cooling rack.
For a flatter (non-cake like) cookie delete the baking powder.
