Buttery Chocolate Chip Cookies, Best Southern Recipes

Today we have 9 adults for dinner with 5 teens and 1 23 year old so I decided to make Chocolate Chip Cookies for dessert. They were all happy when they seen them laying out on the cooling rack. This recipe is in our Volume 1 cookbook under Chris’s Favorite Cookies, but I do delete the pecans and oatmeal for the teens today. Thanks for watching and please hit the like button.

NOW FOR THIS FAMILY RECIPE:
Chris’s Favorite Cookies
2 STICKS BUTTER OR MARGERINE
3/4 GRANULATED SUGAR
3/4 CUP BROWN SUGAR
2 EGGS
1 TSP. BAKING SODA
1/4 TSP. SALT
1 TSP. VANILLA
2 1/2 CUPS ALL-PURPOSE FLOUR
1 CUP QUICK OATMEAL (NOT OLD FASHIONED) oatmeal is optional
1/2 BAG SEMI-SWEET CHOCOLATE CHIPS
1/2 BAG MINI SEMI-SWEET CHOC. CHIPS
1 CUP CHOPPED PECANS (optional)

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
In a stand mixer mix together butter and sugars until fluffy. Add eggs. Add soda, salt and vanilla. Add flour and mix well.
Turn off mixer and scrape the sides and bottom of mixing bowl. Add chocolate chips, oatmeal and pecans.
Drop by heaping teaspoons onto cookie sheet sprayed with cooking spray. Place 1 1/2 inches apart. Bake for 8-10 minutes.

Cool on a cookie rack. Yield: 4 dozen cookies
