Good morning! What a beautiful morning. Do you see the pink flowers?Let me open this other blind. This tree has small white flowers which are about to emerge any day now. I’ll show you one day. Here is my kitchen. It’s not very big and it doesn’t have an island. But it serves its purpose. I’m very thankful! 😀👏Let’s start making waffles! The first thing we need to do is make the master mix (from Cuisinart recipe book) which is essentially a large batch of ready to go waffle mix. 😺Add 6 cups of flour.Remember to use whole wheat flour. It’s way more nutritious than white flour!White flour reminds me of 🍭🍬Then you’re going to add 1 cup of wheat bran. Now the original recipe called for 1 cup of wheat germ, but I ran out of it. Wheat bran seemed like a good replacement! ☺️Oops… added a bit more than 1 cup. That’s okay. More fibre, the merrier!I use this type of baking powder because it does not contain corn in it. I’m very sensitive to corn and soy. 😟😖😣
Add 3 tbsp of the baking powder. Sorry, I meant to include that in this clip! Not enough coffee! 😝
Now add 3 tbsp of white sugar. Not too much! 🤩
Add 2 tsp of salt for a bit of flavouring. 😋Now that we have all the ingredients for a master waffle mix, stir it really well.I was thinking the other day of students and the virus which has changed our circumstances. 💜The more complex, challenging and uncertain the world becomes, the more need there is for education to change the ways we teach and have students learn. 📱💻⌚️Are we just mixing things around without giving much thought to the effects of all our children? 😐As parents, teachers, and citizens, we need to design learning experiences for our kids so that we can inspire them and help them reach their potential. 😁If we don’t, then we leave behind our most vulnerable learners. Just like the wheat bran that does not get quite incorporated in this hapless mixing! 😜We must give opportunities for all students to develop their voice for interacting with people, learn how to network in appropriate ways, and promote their creative ideas! ❤️🧡💛Now that we’ve combined all the ingredients for the master waffle mix, we can now allocate some of that mix for a smaller batch of waffles. 😇Take 3.5 cups of waffle mix and place into a separate large bowl. 😗With some kids going back to school, personalized learning is even more important. 😇Personalized learning is a way to help students learn b/c it strives to develop instruction that meets their strengths and needs! 😀Add 2 tbsp of oil, such as canola oil. 😉I hope you can think about what personalized learning can look like for your kids whether it’s at home or at school. 😅Life is so short. We need to influence kids in positive ways. Time flies. 🎈Add 2 cups of water or milk. I think milk tastes better. But we’re trying to stay away from dairy in my household. I sure miss……🍧🍨🍦Add 2 eggs🐓Now mix that really well. 😆Since more kids have been at home, have you seen what your child’s strengths are? 😌One of my sons loves to garden and be outdoors. My other son is very good with movement. He loves martial arts! I have to watch out for the karate chops!! 😂One of the things I have taught my kids is to do their best to make a better world. 😇As I mix this batter, I often wonder what my kids would be like if I did not teach them that concept throughout their lives? 👩‍❤️‍👨The batter will be thick. You can add a bit more water or milk if it’s too dry.
Try not to over mix. Just mix until the ingredients have combined.
I have a Cuisinart waffle machine which my son interestingly enough, asked for Christmas. Not sure if it was for him or for me! 🎀First, grease the waffle machine with a bit of oil.Add about 3/4 cup of the batter.Anyways, the waffle machine was an awesome gift from Santa!!The machine will beep when the waffle is cooked.Ta da!! Isn’t it beautiful? It’s so hot!!!Repeat the process. Brush with oil. Add about 3/4 cup of batter. My heart breaks when kids don’t get to reach their aspirations.Sadly, there are so many contributing factors. One of them is the lack of believing that kids can do it. 😉Yummmy…. Another one ready! Time to relax and enjoy a bit of waffle me time. Haha!! 🤣There’s something about enjoying a bit of food that is so simple yet so wholesome.I don’t add butter, but I should b/c it would taste that much better!! Nah.. ..too lazy.If kids can experience little bits of knowledge and ideas here and there, it can turn into something big. ☺️It’s just like this waffle recipe.I put bits of ingredients here and there. Added into a bowl. Then all those little bits made quite a nutritious and wholesome breakfast waffle! 😋What bits of info and knowledge are we sharing with kids? Is it coming from us or from the Internet?I love seeing kids also explore. Yesterday, I saw a girl sitting on her front lawn and exploring something in the grass. From afar, I could not see what she was looking at. But her curiosity and exploration was a rare sight since the lockdown. 😀If we can help kids become explorers and self directed learners, then we help build their capacity to make good decisions especially in a world where things move so rapidly and change so quickly. 🙃I hope you all have a wonderful and joyful week! 😍Try making this waffle recipe. It’s like a double batch! You’ll save so much time! 😋😛Peace!! 😍🥰😘
