How to Make My Favorite Cameroonian “African” Pancakes| Well and Tasty

This is what my childhood was made of and I’m happy to share it with you today. When it comes to pancakes these are quite honestly my faves. They resemble “crepes” than the typical American pancakes.

hey guys I’m Tina welcome back to mychannelin today’s video I’m sharing a recipethat’s so precious and dear to mebecause it’s something that I grew upeating it reminds me of my childhood andso for me it’s just an expression oflove and these are a Cameroonianpancakes these pancakes are nice andthin and more closely related to crustso when I moved to the US and I saw whatwe referred to as pancakes year I was sosurprised I was like these are notpancakes but I have since learned thedifference between the American pancakesand my true and beloved Cameroonianpancakes and so I wanted to share thisrecipe with you and I hope that you guysenjoy it and that you’re able to make itfor your own loved ones and that itmakes you feel nice and warm insidebecause that’s how I feel every time Ieat these pancakes so let’s just go intothe recipe and I’ll show you how I whipit up there are the ingredients you willneed so I really like this because theyare all simple ingredients which youprobably already have in your fridge orpantry so let’s start with our dryingredients so to the flour I’m addingsugar cinnamon and salt and then alsograting in some nutmeg I will also zestin one lemon and mix everything togetherwelland in my blender I will mix my wetingredients so just adding my milk andwater some vanilla extract eggs and thenmy dry ingredientsthen cover and blend until smoothSpray a nonstick pan with oil then spoonthe batter into the center and gentlytilt the pan to spread it out[Music]you[Music]leave it to cook on medium-low for aboutone minute until there is no more anywet spatter and then you’re just gonnago in and flip your pancake now somepeople are able to just flick their riskand have the pancake turnover but not II need to use my tools and I stillstruggle with that once you flip thosepancakes you’re just gonna let it cookfor about 30 seconds and your pancakesis ready I like to fold my pancakes intoa triangle it just seems like it feelsmore special that way but this istotally optional then we’re just gonnago ahead and repeat the whole processagain you know spraying the oil thenspooning in the batter and spreading itout and then just cooking a minuteand once it’s no longer any wet batterwe’re gonna go in and flip that pancakeand let it cook another 30 seconds or sopick this process until all of thatbatter is complete[Music]you[Music]once you have all your pancakes you canthen go ahead and shake over somepowdered sugar now this is totallyoptional again I just thought it wouldlook cute with the video in Cameroon weeat our pancakes by themselves andsometimes we also eat them with sardinesor with a chocolate spread and sometimeseggs as well I like it best just byitself it’s a nice quick recipe I loveit I hope you guys would do as well andif you make it please share with me onInstagram I would love to see thank youso much for watching please don’t forgetto subscribe and I will see you in mynext video take care bye
