Ingredients:

2 tsp active dry yeast
1 tsp sugar
160 ml milk
2 tbs olive oil
80 ml water, at room temperature
320 g strong flour
1 tsp coarse salt
1 tsp of fine chopped fresh thyme leaves
1 tbsp olive oil + extra for brushing

Combine the sugar, yeast, olive oil, water and milk in a bowl. Set the bowl aside for 5 minutes, until the yeast starts bubbling

Combine the flour, salt and the chopped fresh thyme leaves and give it a good mix.

Stir in the olive oil in the yeast mixture.

Start adding the yeast mixture into the flour mixture in batches.

Transfer mixture to a lightly floured work surface. Knead until smooth.

Brush a bowl with some oil and add the dough in.

Cover with a towel and let it rest for about 40-50 minutes or until doubled in size.

Cut the dough into 6 equal sized pieces and form pita breads with a rolling pin.

Cook the pita bread for 1-2 minutes on each side in the pan, until puffed up slightly.

Sprinkle with thyme and serve with tzatziki.

ENJOY!

hey guys what is up my name is Mika
bassist project boxy inspired one of my
viewers krembo he asked me to do create
curiosity so here we go this video is
the first out of three Creek inspired
recipe videos and we will start by doing
pita bread let’s first look at all the
ingredients we are using today all the
exact amounts can be found down below so
we have water flour milk more flour for
dusting sugar yeast salt fresh thyme and
olive oil this should get us going
so let’s first combine olive oil milk
sugar yeast and water in a bowl then
give it a good mix and now we will let
this mixture rest about five minutes or
so just to activate the yeast now I’ll
chop up some fresh thyme the smell as
time is so good all the press herbs are
good for you
now this will be mixed with the flour
and salt and now give it a mix
like so alright and now we just wait a
few more minutes and then we start
making the dough okay and after about
seven minutes or so now let’s start
combining the mixtures together so I
will slowly start adding the flour
mixture into the yeast mixture in small
batches like this
[Music]
yeah you see what’s happening here
we’re starting to form the dough and now
I think it’s the time to go in with your
hands and yeah this is what your hands
are made for netting the dough now
lightly flour the surface here and put
your doable to come on the surface make
sure you use every bit of this flour
here you don’t want to waste anything
and then just start working on the dough
ball by knitting it maybe in five four
hour six minutes use a bit of flour if
it feels a little bit too wet yeah I
think this is pretty good now
[Music]
all right then here you got your dirt
ball it’s a pretty good Sun usually if
your work surface and hands are clean
after hitting process as I do have now
[Music]
all right next up we drizzle a little
bit of olive oil in a bowl this is just
to prevent the dough from sticking like
so then we throw in our beautiful dough
ball in the bowl and let it rest for
about 40-50 minutes see you soon all
right due to some technical difficulties
it’s been 1 and a half hour since I put
the dough to rise let’s take a look how
it looks now okay I can be seen it has
like were tripled in size which is a
ride now let’s dust the surface and work
the dough a little bit now it should
come up easily because of the olive oil
[Music]
and there we are
[Music]
and now we’re divided in six equal sized
pieces like so let’s make them a little
balls
right
now take your rolling pin and maybe
around this size and there we go
and remember guys this is your homemade
pita bread so it doesn’t need to be
perfect like circle
[Music]
okay then we are ready to make the bread
so first off pan on a medium heat and
now take your pita bread and place it on
a pan
[Music]
and now wait until it starts puffing up
a little bit as you can see here and
then it’s time to turn beautiful
[Music]
now it’s a one minute or two per side
perfect up bread and we are ready and
now just repeat the same process for
rest of the pita bread you got okay
check this out

expert on Creek style cooking but I’m
really happy how they turned out I need
to dry this out immediately
okay let’s crack one open here look at
this yeah it’s like a proper pita bread
consistency oh yeah now let’s dip it in
a chicken sauce and have a taste
[Music]
