Purple Princess’ ‘How To’ bake a simple Pie Crust and turn it into a Banana Cream Pie



So today were going to be showing you how to make a simple pie crust, and because not using the crust for anything would be a waste, we are going to turn it into a banana cream pie to use up some of the pastry cream we previously made. Enjoy!

hey guys today we’re gonna make a piedough the French cause it brews ahopefully I pronounced it right so wejust let me use for easy ingredients 1 aquarter cups of flour but when I bake Ilike to actually weigh up my file that’swhy I have a scale here so it’s gonna be160 grams 1/2 a teaspoon of salt 1teaspoon of sugar in about 3 to 4teaspoon of ice water depending how dryyou don’t like beagle or white soit alldepends I’m having one stick of butterhere it’s pretty cool just took it outof the fridge I’m gonna cut it intocubes real quickusing my favorite son knife to cut goeseverywhere with meall right into cubes so you want yourbutter stay as close as possible when itbakes up gives you that nice plate allright so before I get messy with mydough I make sure I take off my jewelrycuz nothing worse than trying to cleandough off your jewelry all right so letme weigh up this flourI’m Way over 160 grams so now I’m gonnaadd myself and my sugar so I don’t getmy scale messy whatever song so I’m justgonna add all my butter in and somepeople will use a pastry cutter and makeit just cut it in we use it for I justlike to use my hand the whole stick ofbutter goes in and I’m just gonna startcombining the flour with the butter domy fingers with my fingertips you don’twant used to palm me again because it’svery warm you’ll melt the butterKnutson not good for a flaky pie box soI’m just seethe edges start to fake in the bottom isstill very raw I’m talking very lightlyso it doesn’tand then put it back in the oven formaybe another 15 20 minutes you’ll seewhen the bottom is cooked through in itit just turned brown that’s your signalfor it to come out so it’s been aboutlike 20 25 minutes now I actually took apeak around 15 in notice that it wasn’tas um as golden as I like so I added acouple more mix and look how nice andgolden it is right now so we’re gonnalet this cool maybe for about an hour soand then I’m gonna show you how I’mgonna finish this pie dough so this ishow high crust completely cool andearlier I had made some pastry creamwhich I’m going to use this my pastrycream on the side to make a banana creampie so I have some bananas heremy trusty shun knife piece so I’mjust gonna slice my bananas st. whoneeds a dirty cutting board when natureprovides onelike big slices of buddy in us so youcan actually taste it but you know whenyou cut into it you have to play with itsee how arranging alright do it like theMonkees do easiest way to peel bananaI mean you can make it fancy by using apastry bag dessert if you want you canarrange some bananas so people know
