I am a southern girl born in raised in Collard Valley in Polk County Georgia. We went to church on Sunday, school during the week, the grocery store on Friday’s and that was our life. No vacations, no camping, just plain old southern country people
NOW FOR THIS FAMILY RECIPE:
Chocolate Fudge Pie
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 stick butter plus 2 tablespoons
4 tbsp. self rising flour
6 tbsp. hershey’s cocoa
1/4 tsp. salt
Prick pie crust with a fork and bake in 375 degree oven for 10 minutes or until golden brown. Turn oven down to 350 after removing crust for baking pie.

In a glass bowl combine the sugar, eggs, vanilla, melted butter and mix well. Add cocoa and flour and mix well. Put in the pre-baked crust and bake in a 350 degree oven for 30 minutes. Turn oven down to 325 and bake another 8 minutes it shouldn’t be removed from oven until set

[Music][Music]today we’re going to make my chocolatepie this is in the first volume cookboot and it’s a great recipe forThanksgiving that’s coming up soon orany night of the week it’s so simple andeasy the first thing I do is I predict afrozen pie crust with a fork and Iusually prick along the sides a littlebit as well then you can hear my oven ispreheated so then we place it in apreheated oven the oven is preheated to350 degrees I’m actually going to turnthat up to 375 and then we’re gonna setthe timer for eight minutes we’re goingto do is we are going to take a stick ofbutter and two tablespoons and we’regoing to melt it in a batter bowl and soI like just to do it the microwave it’squick and simple and easy so put you acouple tablespoons off a lot and a wholestick of the otherand we’re going to put this in themicrowave I’m going to put it on a alower microwave setting Evans already at375 we’re just gonna put this in therelong enough to melt it and I’ll justkeep an eye on it okay won’t wait onthat you’re gonna need some self-risingflouryou’re gonna need sugar 2 eggs cocoasalt vanilla now I can take a look atour recipe but it’s great the recipesare one per page it’s large-print it’seasy to read has a spiral so you can layit down flat on the table when you’reworking and if you can’t see itI made it larger print for those thatdon’t see well anymore okay we’re gonnause a cup of sugarwe’ll put in our sugar and then our eggsjust like we’re making a cake orsomething and well once we mix those upwe’ll use a spoon okayso here’s one egg two eggswe’re gonna whisk this together we canput in our vanilla oil so you’re gonnaadd about a teaspoon of vanilla now weare going to add quarter teaspoon ofsalt and six tablespoons of cocoa andfour tablespoons of flour so I’mactually gonna put in the flour first sothat I don’t get cocoa in my flour sojust one two threeforone two threeso make sure you use in the self-risingflour we got two more tablespoons to goso you got six tablespoons of cocoa andfour tablespoons of self-rising flourand that’s it so we’re just going to mixthis up and we’re gonna pour it in ourpie shell and bake it yeah Oh Rodneyjust has pre baked so we are going toput it on the counter and fill it up nowif you’re feeling of pilots liquid youcan just pour it into the shell whileit’s in there on the right like this sothat it’s easier if this yummy fudgy piein the ovenAmy’s already excited I’m makingsomething yummythis is a date dish crust and reallyjust pass for a regular crust but it’llstill be goodeverybody loves the crust anyway allrightyummywe’re gonna get this in the oven justmake sure you cook it until it’s done Ihave a loyalty book 30 minutes but it isa chewy fudgy pie so just make sure youget it done you know check it with atoothpick I’ll set the timer for 30minutes okay you can play the pie that’srisen but if you shake it it’s a littlejiggly in the middle and it has been 30minute and it’s probably gonna have tocut another 15 minutes y’all rememberthat on your recipe book mark it downyeah you can see now it’s not jigglinganymoreso everybody’s oven is different so makesure when you make this fudge pie thatwhen you pull it out if you shake it andit’s still jiggly just it’s not quiteset up yet just give it five minutes tenminutes and then check it again okay youcan turn the temperature down to 325 ifyou’re afraid your your crust is gonnaget too Brown but there we have it afudge pie it’s like a brownie pop andits really really good so it’s it’sgonna be fudgy on the inside but youstill want it set up good okaywe’ll cut that thing in a few minutesokay it’s time to eat the pieso you could serve this with ice creamor glass of milk or whipping creamhowever you want to serve itwe’ll workpeople Krusty’s let me see if I can doit with this oneI want a pretty picture yeah I don’twant cress broken there we go all rightI’m gonna taste this guy’s and see ifit’s good let’s put some cool whip on mybot why don’t we you can see that it’snice and fudgy it’s like a Brioni pocketso mmm yum yum yumoh yeah let’s put some homeworkthanks for watching color valley codeswhere we could like mama did no it’sgetting almost time for thanksgiving youyounger generation if you don’t know howto cook that well if you’ll make a pieand sign up for a pie i guarantee you’llbe happy in place with the results andit’s very easy as well
