For today’s video, i am going to show you how to make Filipino Egg Pie or Custard Pie. This is very common in Filipino Bakeries. It usually has a flaky crust and creamy filling. in this recipe, i will show how to make this delicious egg pie from scratch.

Egg Pie Ingredients:

Crust:
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
65 g butter (cold, cut in small pieces)
1 egg yolk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
3-1/2 tablespoons cold water

Filling:
1 can evaporated milk
1/4 cup water
3/4 cup sugar
3 eggs
1 egg yolk
1 teaspoon vanilla
1-1/2 tablespoons cornstarch
1 egg white

plus some butter to grease the pie pan

Bake in a preheated oven at 180 C for 15 minutes and then lower the heat to 160 C and continue baking for 50-60 minutes. Cover the pie halfway to prevent the crust from burning.
