hallo welcome Marlon here for today’scookie project we’re working onsomething for st. Patrick’s Day but notreally the point of the video likealways I’m incorporating a theme toteach a technique so today we’re lookingat using just basic shapes for holidaysyou don’t always have to run out and buyevery cookie cutter here I’m using abasic octagon and then I looked when Igroup them together that I could fit alittle square in there and so that’swhat I’ve got a little a little squareshaped cookie that is the perfect bitesize and we’re doing a rainbow kind ofstenciling on those cookies which can bedone in any color palette so let’s getstarted with today’s cookie projectstarting off with my little gold cookiesand I’m adding some base icing here ingold so that when I airbrush my goldmetallic it pops if you leave this icingwhite depending on the brand of gold youuse it might be very kind of washed outand not very nice if you want you knowthere’s all kinds of different goldtones if you want you can actually addsome yellow to brighten this this iskind of more on the brown side you’llget more of like an Aztec gold I guessand you could dip them I guess but Iwanted a nice smooth finish here andonce you’ve got these all flooded youcan let them dry you can actually ifyou’re airbrushing versus painting youcan do that right now you don’t have towait for the surface to dry when you’reairbrush one of the reasons why I likemy airbrush my gold cookies and I’mgoing to airbrush now with goldedible paint you can do several passesif you want with your now I’m outliningthese cookies and a little trick ifyou’re piping lines are not perfect andmaybe you’re a little tough on yourselfyou wish it was a little bit more kindof refined a little trick is signingsugar so you just run through yourcookie and then a little dunk and somepretty signing sugar and it’ll flattenit and correct any imperfections thatyou might not like and you can come inand kind of tweak your lines and now I’mflooding my cookies the green outlinehas had a bit of time to dry and I’mjust squeezing my icing up against thatsanding sugar so that it kind of meltsinto the crevices it’s not going to be asuper sharp line simply because thesanding sugar is jagged and so the royalicing that’s going in there is a butt upagainst a jagged edge and it can only doso much but it’s still pretty polished Imean it’s not messy looking and now I’mjust filling in the whole thing I thinkone of the misconceptions about royalicing is that it has to be very runny toheal over and actually that’s not thecase the icing can be surprisingly runnyand hold its shape and needs some helpto kind of level and that help comeswith a little shake there you see andthat smooths it over now I’m going tostencil my cookie I’m placing the cloverdead center and now I’m adding my colorsso pink and I did a test it was a bitnarrow so I’m doing two linesand then they’re yellow on this side andthe rest is green on either side there Iknow I’ve got my scraper and I’m pullingso that the rainbow doesn’t get too kindof messed up just pull straight acrossI’ll wipe the excess off the scraper andI’ll pull the other way just to smoothmy icing there and let’s lift this offand we have a pretty rainbow cloverthereI thought the cookies were missing alittle something so I made a little bitof gray icing I didn’t want black it’svery harsh and all I’m doing is I’moutlining my clover here and I’m doing alittle bit of a swirl like that and thenjust working my way aroundand then I’m adding a little stem sojust a dot and pulling like that hereare the cookies all grouped together asyou can see they create a nice patternnow if you wanted to put this in asquare box here you can see where youwould actually cut your cookies so youcould take a knife and trim them so thatthey fit perfectly in the box and sothat that pattern does not shift solet’s say you were to have a six by sixbox you measure your cookie cutter andyour little squares there to make surethat everything fits and you know inadvance how you need to trim off yourcookies so if you look at the one that’scut right in half well that’s perfectyou get to use that in two boxes or onboth sides of that pattern this gives ita really cute kind of like mosaic tilelook you can add any design you want tothat middle octagon shape so I hope youenjoyed today’s cookie project inspiredyou for your future creativity andthanks so much for watching thanks somuch for being here and I’ll see younext time
