Miss You Guys!! Making cookies!

hi friendship kids I am so excited to befilming this video I miss you guys somuch I hope you guys are all having funstaying home and not going to school butI can’t wait until we can start meetingagain if anybody’s found this video thatdoesn’t know me hi my name is Jen I’mthe children and youth director atFriendship Community Church in Dover andit’s nice to see you guys so since I’vebeen sort of staying in my house alittle more than normalI’ve been getting creative with the kindof things that I’ve been doing I’ve beencleaning my house a little more goingfor walks a little more I’ve been tryingmy hand at makeup I now this pink Barbiefantasy like it I can’t get over it soI’ve been doing all these different sortof things so tonight I thought I wouldmake some cookies now this is an oldfamily recipe that I used to make withmy mom and my brother right aroundChristmastime we would mix up thesecookies and then my mom would roll themout and put them on the pan and then wekind of flattened them a little bit andput lots of sprinkles on top so that’skind of what we would do so I wanted toshare this recipe with you guys so firstof all we’ve got shortening in here allrightthat’s a cup of shortening we’ve got 3/4cup of sugar 3/4 cup of brown sugarwe’ve got a teaspoon of vanilla 2 eggsnow I use 2 egg-shaped blobs ofapplesauce instead of eggs because theykind of give me a bellyache so but ifyou eat eggs at home you can use eggsthis is baking soda a teaspoon of bakingsoda and 2 and 3/4 cup of flour when Ialmost forgot my favorite ingredientright here this is chocolate chips youneed chocolate chips to make chocolatechip cookies obviously so sometimes whenI’m making chocolate chip cookies I justlike to take a couple chocolate chips Idon’t eat them before they go in thebowl do you guys ever do that at yourhouse I love chocolate chips so that iswhat I like to do when I’m makingcookies so I’m going to start kind ofmixing them using green hands whiletalking to you guys all right now someof these ingredients are good to eat bythemselves right so you can eatchocolate chips by themselves you caneven eat some of the sugar by itselfright or you can eat some brown sugar byitself you know those clumps don’t justwork themselves out you just gotta eatthem like that’s just how that works andapplesauce you can eat that by yourselfif you’re making it with eggs don’t eatraw eggs that is grossso you can eat some of these things bythemselves but some of them you can’tright have you guys ever tasted vanilladisgusting really really grossit smells good but it’s not good whatabout flour there’s 2 and 3/4 cups offlour in this recipe more flour thananything else but if you taste it it’snot a very good ingredient right doesnot taste good it’s um like really dryand just not good baking soda is theworst ingredient ever it smells it has ataste that makes salt taste deliciousit’s the worst kind of salty it makes mymouth pucker up it’s grossok but one time I was making cookies andI forgot the baking soda becausenormally I don’t put all the ingredientsin these cute little bowls right I’mjust throwing stuff in so one time Iforgot the baking soda and what happenedto my cookies was instead of gettingnice and fluffy they stayed flat in thepan they burnt on the bottom and theykind of like boiled and they were sogross and hard I had to throw them awayso when we are making cookies eveningredients that taste gross like bakingsoda right they all have a purpose allright and that kind of reminds me ofsomething that the Bible says so if youguys have your Bibles get them out ifyou don’t have your Bibles pause thisvideo and go get it right now we aregonna look up Romans 8:28 so this iswhat it says cheating I already openedmy Bible down here this is my Biblesorry it’s a little beat up it’s come tocamp with me and done like all thiscrazy stuff so that’s kind of what it isbut this is what Romans 8:28 says itsays God causes all things to worktogether for good to those who love himand are called according to hisgood purpose mm-hmm that means thateverything that happens in our lives Godcan work it into something good itdoesn’t mean that everything is goodright it doesn’t mean that not beingable to go to school or not being ableto see your friends is good but it meansthat God is gonna take all those thingsthe good and the bad and work themtogether for something good so you guysare all kind of stuck at home right nowwhat’s the good that’s coming out ofthat how is God working that for good inyour life is he helping you to learn anew skill are you reading any good booksare you talking to your family a littlemore there’s all kinds of good thatcause me can come out of this when I goto the store if I have to go to thestore I usually see people being reallynice to each other it’s kind of makingpeople bond together in a new way soeven like you know the fact that Godthat all this yucky stuff is happeningGod is still making good come out of itit’s kind of like these cookies rightyou can’t make a cookie without bakingsoda but it still is going to be anamazing cookie and it’s just like ourlives right so comment below let me knowhow
