hi it’s Ashley from sweet dreams BakeShop and today we’re going to be makingB themed baby shower cookies in thisvideo one of the main things we’re gonnabe talking about is stenciling for thefirst time so if you’re looking to getinto stenciling or maybe you just wantto pick up a few more baby shower cookieideas then this video is for you for adetailed video on how I make my sugarcookies I’m gonna throw up a link rightin the right-hand corner so you cancheck that out I like my sugar cookies alittle bit golden on the edge but if youprefer them less done then go ahead andtake those out before the 13 minute markalso keep in mind that oven temperaturesvary so it really depends on your ovenas with most of my sugar cookiedecorating tutorials we’re gonna startwith using that piping icing to create aborder and then we’re going to fill itin with some flood consistency if you’rereally not sure what I’m talking aboutin terms of different icingconsistencies I’m gonna throw up a linkin the corner where I go a little bitmore in depth with how to get the rightconsistency for your sugar cookies whencreating interesting sets I think it’sreally important to choose differentcookie cutters this particular set isgoing to be given to my friend as a giftso I just made one of each cookie if youwere making a party tray or a platterfor an event I think a really good ruleof thumb to follow is maybe six or sevendifferent cookie cutters but all usingthe same color palette using the samecolor palette will just save you theheadache of having to make so manydifferent colors and it also makeseverything look a little bit morecohesive when you do thattoday’s cookie video is also being shownto you a little bit differently normallyI take one cookie and I decorate it fromstart to finish and then we move on tothe next one but I really wanted to showyou what it’s really like when I’mmaking a full set so as you can see I’veoutlined everything and now I’m goingback in and I am flooding everythingdoing everything this way is a lot moreefficient than finishing one wholecookie because it gives you that timefor your base icing to dry so when youadd details on top it’s really reallyeasy and fast also a little side note Ihad my hair up and a really cute littlemessy bun and I had some tendrilshanging out and unfortunately my hair iskind of sticking out into the frame somy apologiesnotice with this carriage I amspecifically only filling in everysecond part here if I did them alltogether then I’d lose all thatdefinition of that nice puffy carriagelook I am using my stencil genie for thevery first time today and I have fallenin love with it it’s magnetic so youjust kind of sandwich your stencil inbetween the magnets and it works like adream what doesn’t work like a dream andnever has is my airbrush it is just sotemperamental once my husband got myairbrush system working for me againthis whole process worked like a charmI absolutely love the look of stencilsand now I love using them as well hereare a few tips just for the stencilgenie usage itself whenever you’reapplying the airbrush make sure youdon’t over apply because you don’t wantthose droplets getting on to your cookiewhen you’re done airbrushing reallygently you want to make sure that youlift up you don’t want to drag thestencil because then you’re not going tohave a clean stencil my last littletidbit is that you absolutely need tomake sure that your cookie is almostfully dry because the stencil does reston your cookie so you don’t want toindent anything at all you’ll noticewith this carriage that I left certainparts blank because if I try to do thewhite before I airbrushed everything theairbrush would just get everywhere andit’s really really hard to control[Music]decorating sugar cookies is a series oftrying to think of what do I need todecorate first in order for everythingto work in the end cake decorating isalso very similar but I find becauseyou’re working with something so fluidyou really need to make sure that yourplanning is on point if you’reintimidated by writing on a cookie orwriting on a cake all I can reallystress to you is practice practicepractice you can use something like aprojector to help you with your writingbut honestly when you’re in a rush andyou’re making a bunch of differentcookies you don’t want to whip out yourprojector for one or two cookies havingthat writing skill in your back pocketis just super super useful[Music][Music]this first little bumblebee I didn’t dosuch a great job on so we’re gonna waittill the next cookie so I can explainthat process to you you’ll notice onsome of my cookies I kind of um braidthe stencil all you do for that is youjust press the trigger or less andyou’re really sparing as you go uptowards whatever part you want laterwith the stencilwho doesn’t love Robert Munsch I alwaysread this book around Mother’s Day timeto my kindergarten students it’s justsuch a touching book and I love how itkind of fit in with the bee theme themagic to creating this cookie is usingthe same color palette that you’ve beenusing on all the other cookies but usingdifferent fonts using different fontsand sizes also allows you to cheat alittle bit so let’s say you madesomething too big or too small you cankind of squish it all in there so whenmaking your little bumblebee you cantake your piping icing and then you’regoing to kind of make a dot and thenswipe through with your piping bag thenyou’re going to add some black over topand I kind of just drag that throughwith my scribe and then you saw me dragthrough a little bit of pale yellow aswell now there are lots of differentways to make those stripes for thebumble bee and probably the easiest waywould be if you fill the piping bag withicing consistency that was same as theblack consistency but I wanted mine tolook a little bit more sketchy so that’swhy I just kind of dragged it throughwith my cookie scribe in the beginning Ialways thought of cake decorating andcookie decorating as a series of tryingto cover up your past mistakes on yourcookie so every little indent that I sawor maybe a little bubble that I wasn’thappy with I added some black lines toit in many instances now I actually wantto intentionally add these lines but insome instances a little bit ofimperfection helps me decide where I’mgoing to start a certain detail in orderto make these flowers it’s the exactsame technique as making the little beewings you just need to make a dot andswipe through and then in the center adda little golden pearl[Music]thanks so much for watching guys don’tforget to Like share and subscribe soyou can be part of this sweety fam rightnow uploading daily so make sure you hitthat notification bell so you know whenI upload and be sure to comment requestor ask a question I love hearing fromyou guys bye[Music]
