hi boys and girls today I thought itwould be fun to make a video ofsomething different I’m in the kitchenand I’m making my oatmeal chocolate chipcookies and I wanted to show you howfractions show up everywhere especiallywhen we’re baking so to begin we needtwo sticks of butter lots of butter sothe first step is to cream the butterand the sugars together so there are alittle bit in the microwave to warm themup lots of sugarso you take one cup I have a little 1cup measuring spoons here of brown sugarand brown sugar is regular sugar mixedwith molasses so it gives it this brownlook and it’s pretty soft so when you dothat you usually pack it in so gonnapack it down with the bottom of my spoonpop that in there so that was 1 cup ofbrown sugar 2 sticks of butter and 3/4 acup of regular sugar so I keep my sugarin this little thing here so I’m gonnamake it 3/4 of the way full of sugar soon my little measuring cup it has 3/4 acup there so I need a little bit moresugar just right I’ll pour thosetogether and then I’m going to creamthem so blenderand egg one egg[Music]okay when’s those are all nice andcreamed then I get two tablespoons ofvanilla this recipe calls for a lot ofvanilla so that’s what usually thebiggest one here could we add vanillaso that was one tablespoons that washalf of what the vanilla I need I’mgonna do one more two tablespoons ofvanilla baking soda now the purpose ofthe baking soda is to make the cookiesfries so I’m going to add one teaspoonbaking sodathat’s smaller than the tablespoon plusone four of these quarter teaspoons willmake one full teaspoonall right now these are oatmealchocolate chip cookies they’re healthyokay so I’m gonna dump out I use thismeasuring cup to put the extra salt inwhen I was measuring some in it makesure that I get rid of that over thereand two cups of oats and you add theoats before you add the flour becauseonce you add the flour you don’t want tomix it too much if you mix it too muchafter you add the flour then it’s goingto be kind of tough and we don’t want wewant nice soft cookies and as my bonusthis is my little secret ingredientI add a little bit of shredded coconutflakes and that gives the cookies alittle bit of chewiness and if you thinkbut I don’t like coconut so I’m notgonna like those you can’t really tasteit at all secret little ingredient so Ijust kind of estimate that[Music]all right so now that’s all blended andI actually end up adding the same amountof flour as I dooats so it says 1 and 3/4 of a cup offlour in my recipe but I always end updoing two cups of flours my flour inhere and usually you can use a knife tokind of level it off okay so that’s onecup of flour and in case you want toprevent a flour bomb I usually mix theseone at a timenow something you want to keep in mindis that you want to make sure that it’sall blended in really well so sometimesthese mixers at the bottom they canleave some so I just turn it off I putmy spoon downand then if your parents allow you we’regonna say sighs to go and pretty good sothe next step is to decide how you’regoing to bake them so if you want themto be all chocolate chips now it’s thetime add in one cup of chocolate chipsor I like to do though is I divide myrecipe in half so I take the dough and Iput half of it and one bowl and half ina different Bowl in another bowl I’llput some raisins about half a cup ofraisins and then half a cup of thechocolate chips in the opposite one andI’ll add about a teaspoon of cinnamon tothe oatmeal you have oatmeal raisincookies so all right so now I havedivided up the cookies into the cookiedough and so I wanted to show you thecookie tray is kind of a math array hereso we have three cookies by four cookiesso three times four is twelve so there’sa dozen cookies on each tray and I havetwo trays one has chocolate chip m1 hasoatmeal raisin and cinnamon raisin andso that’s 24 cookies and all and the waywe bake these is I put it in the oven at315 for about 17 minutes and then theyshould be ready to go all right so it’sbeen 17 minutes a little bit more I tookthe cookies out and here they are on thecooling rack and our nice little tray ifyou want to check out this array now youcan also see it in kind of a common coremanner and that there’s two groups of 6so 6 plus 6 is 12 there’s 12 there andthey are chewy and deliciousthanks Sydney yummy this is how you knowwhen they’re done right the apart reallygood so I hope you would enjoy maybe youcan try them for yourself
