Homemade Pumpkin Bread from Real Halloween Pumpkin Cooking with Cookie Video



Todays cooking with Cookie video: I have picked out the perfect pumpkin from the pumpkin patch and now that Halloween is over I’m going to use the pumpkin to make some yummy pumpkin bread. Follow along with me as I made a round bunt cake and a loaf tin bread. I hope it turns out because I’m hungry 😀

cookies world’s welcome to cooking withcookie today we’re gonna be makinghomemade pumpkin bread from scratchso step number one is going to thepumpkin patch I picked out this perfectpumpkin to bake some delicious pumpkinbread this is a baking pumpkin so thisis different than just any regularpumpkin you want to specifically find itlike a baking pumpkin the guy at thepumpkin patch he told me that this was aNew England sugar pumpkin and that itwould be perfect for baking because ofthe color and you see like those likelittle speckly spots on it right thereyou see like those tiny little speckleshe said more the pumpkin has it thebetter and the more sugar content it hasso these will be perfect for bread piesall that yummy goodness now I’m going tocut into the pumpkin and of course forany younger fans watching if you’reunder the age of 18 I always have anadult help you because safety is numberone and I’m gonna hold a paper towelover the stem because pumpkin stems canbe spiky and you will get a littlesplinter all right there we go look atthat look at all of those pumpkin gutsand seeds now you can save these ofcourse and make some pumpkin seeds I’mjust gonna put everything right in thisbowl now I’m gonna cut my pumpkin inhalf oh there we go now we’ve got thepumpkin cut open split and I don’t needany of this inside so I’m going to justscoop out the pumpkin guts and the seedsthey are not needed for the pumpkinbread and I’m not gonna need the insideso I’m gonna scoop out most of thestringy flesh oh this one’s got a lotall right now I’m gonna lay down someparchment paper here and I’m gonna putmy pumpkins that now have beencompletely gutted out skin side up likethat and now I have to get the pumpkinto soften up so I can easily scoop itout for the pumpkin bread so I’m gonnabake everything now at 400 degrees for45 minutes season all right hot andfresh right out of the oven so if I pokeittake it back oh it’s nice and tender soI just have to let it cool down and thenwe can start doing a pumpkin puree allright I’m gonna get all the dryingredients ready while we’re waitingfor that to cool down so I’m going to dothree and a halfcups of vanilla perfect little dome 2teaspoons of baking soda one and a halfteaspoons of salt now we need oneteaspoon of cinnamon does this actuallylook like vanilla ice cream withchocolate powder poured on top all rightnow we need 1 teaspoon of ground nutmeg1/2 teaspoon close now we need 1/4teaspoon of ground ginger just mix allthe dry ingredients I’m gonna put it inthe mixer so I just have to do just alittle basic mix it also can be so goodI’m so excited now the wet ingredientsso I’m gonna crack in four eggs into mybowl now we’re gonna do 1 cup of oil soI’m doing olive oil that I’m gonna pourinthen we need three cups of sugar yes itis gonna require a lot or sugar there’sgonna be some sweet sweet pumpkin breadand I’m gonna pour this in the wetingredients not in the dry three cups ofsugar used at all oh we still need moreall right I didn’t have any more whitesugar in the pantry but I do have somebrown sugar so I’m just gonna add thisinto it why not right in two-thirds cupwater all right now we just have to addin the pumpkinall right the pumpkin had a chance tocool down look at it now it’s got likethis really wrinkly skin now it willbecome easier to peel this pumpkin andwe’re gonna put it right into theblender there we go so just want to getall that skin off because I don’t wantthat to be in my puree my pumpkin pureeto be nice and smooth it’ll be like anapple sauce all right now I’m gonna putit into the blender all right it’s notmoving so I’m gonna push it down closerto the blades[Applause]all right now I just need two cups allright so now I’ve got my two cups ofpumpkin I’m just gonna add it into mywet mix all right now we’re gonna mixeverything up all right now I’m gonnaadd in a little bit of some dry just alittle bit mix it[Music]a little bit[Music][Music]all right that’s all of it[Music]the batter is already so now said thatthe recipe will actually make threeloafs so I only have one loaf tin so I’mgonna do one loaf and then I have thisbundt cake kind of silicone mold so I’mjust gonna grease both of these and putflour on them or maybe some old-schoolcookie fans who remember me making agiant donut with this a bundt cake pan -that was so much funmake sure I greased this good I don’twant any sticking get corners a littlesprinkle of flour pour it in all rightand the rest is now going to go in thebundt in all right time for the ovenall right there we go we got them bothin they look great okay now I have to dothe poke test I have to poke them andsee if they’re ready that looks clean soif I poke them and the toothpick comesout cleanthis one I need a little bit no I thinkthat’s pretty good right I’m taking themout they look good okay hot and freshout of the oven I’m just gonna poke emone more time to make sure they’re okayget a little bit deeper in okay that’sgood go in here Oh oh no oh no it’sstill doughy okaythis will oh no this one’s totally notready and it goes alright so I got oneof them out of the oven it was alreadyso let’s go ahead and just put this onthe plate and it looks beautiful so itshould just peel really easy right outof the little oh look at that it’s likethe perfect shape it looks like aflattened – pumpkin with a hole in themiddle all right so I’m gonna place myplate on top flip it over and verynicely it actually still looks like agiant donut all right now to slice intoit and see what its gonna look likehomemade pumpkin bread from a realpumpkin picked at the pumpkin patchthere it is oh it looks beautiful okaycan’t wait for the other one to come outalright guys so sorry for the lighting Itotally forgot to take it out of the panbut it is nice and cool now it’s lit outno problem and it looks absolutelybeautiful and this one I ended upputting some powder sugar on it tastesso tasty so delicious so there it
