it’s gonna be another short one andsimple but very timely making a homemadefortune cookies I always wanted to makehomemade fortune cookies and so as I waslooking at the calendar for what wascoming up and I was looking at of coursethe Super Bowl I’m not really a sportsperson I I was a cheerleader so Iunderstand football I just never gotinto it and so I’m I only go to twoSuper Bowl parties for the food that’sthat’s what I’m all about but I havealready shared a lot of my Super Bowland gameday food recipes here in a livestream last year and also on otherYouTube videos and so I thought it wouldbe fun to do something for the ChineseNew Year’s which is this Saturday andit’s the year of the mouse so I’ve beenseeing a lot of Mickey Mouse and Disneystuff coming up which is super fun Imean so homemade fortune cookies aresuper super simple and that is whatwe’re going to do today so I’m justgonna make sure that all the commentsare working go ahead and tell me whereyou’re watching from or if you have afavorite Chinese recipe the funny thingis fortune cookies are actually notreally Chinese they have become aChinese staple here in America wherethey are served at Chinese restaurantsbut if you look at the history offortune cookies they were actually mostlikely brought over from Japan which ofcourse I love everything Japan’s this Iused to live there and so that makes melove them even more if that’s possiblenow the original cookies were servedwith tea and they were made with theground sesame seed and miso where now weuse vanilla and butter and sugar youknow sugar it’s a little bit more sweeton the american side of things they’realso a little bit lighter than theoriginal ones which were darker becauseof course the sesame seeds and and yesso there are sweeping now where beforethey were more of the sweet savory baseso to get started this isactually very very very almost identicalsimilar to to my waffle cone recipe thedifference is because we’re not using awaffle maker to make these so that thedough is not gonna get spread outthrough pressure I had to add moreliquid to make this a little bit runnyER and easier to manipulate and soinstead of four tablespoons of butterit’s eight and obviously I’m not addingsesame seeds but to give it that nuttybase I’m adding some almond extract nowif you have someone in your life who’sallergic to nuts avoid the almondextract because a lot of them or lookfor an almond extract that is allergyfriendly a lot of them are not as Ilearned I was doing a cake decoratingclass once and we were using almondextract for something and one of thesestudents was allergic to nuts I had noidea it was not fun for her so here weare going to get started the first thingthat we are going to do is is toseparate the eggs so we need four eggwhites for this recipe so I have foureggs here now usually typically I wouldjust buy egg whites in a carton from thegrocery store so that I don’t have thatimbalance of yolks and egg whites when Ido a recipe that uses a lot of yolksI’ll save those egg whites and I’ll usethem for something like this wafflecones my my marshmallow frosting or Iwill save them and make macarons but theother way around using egg whites andthen having a lot of egg yolks there’sno like I guess I’m gonna make some icecream there’s not really a lot of youronly recipes well there are quite a fewegg white on the recipes although nowthat I think about eye cancer I do thinkof a lot more yolk recipes one thingthat I’ll do if I have a lot of extrayolks lying around is I will just startadding them to other recipes where Irecipe would call for like three eggs Iwould do two eggs and two yolks it’s thesame amount because two yolks counts asone egg or two why it’s counts as oneegg so it would be the same amount in arecipe and just make it a little bitricher so it’s a good way to get rid ofextra egg yolks if you have them solet’sswitch over get my little container I ofcourse already made a batch of these soI already have some egg yolks in a bowlso my tips for for separating eggsalways crack your egg on a flat surfaceyou don’t want to use a corner becausethat will push more shells oh why aren’twe focusing let’s try that if you usethe corner of a bowl what that’s gonnado is actually push the shells insideyour egg which you don’t want you wejust want to give it that smash so wecan easily break it apart always hold itover the bowl that you’re gonna beputting the egg whites in and I I liketo use my hand I feel like I get a lotmore control over don’t wanna do thatI’m clearly not thinking a lot morecontrol over the over the yolks that wayno if you do get a shell as I did useyour broken your broken egg and it’s theby far the best thing to grab out littlepieces of shells it just sticks to itbeautiful eats made to save itself andthen of course anytime you have a recipethat calls for whites you want to seehow the the yolk just stays in place andit’s really really really easy to getthe egg whites through your fingers thatway I also start with room-temperatureeggs when I’m separating eggs I findthat it separates a lot easier that wayso sometimes the egg whites and the eggyolks stick together a lot today we’rehaving a really easy time separating itbut sometimes that boogery egg whitewill stick to the yolk quite a bit andit can be harder to carry this one seehow the white is kind of sticking toyolk a little bit more by using my handsI can just run the yolk back and forthwhile the egg white falls back downinsideall right I know that is my favorite wayof separating egg yolks yes it is messybut I washing your hands takes like fiveseconds and it’s not that big of a dealI’m one of the other tips really fastI’ll share with you I what I’ll do withmy Tupperware with egg yolks in themI’ll put plastic wrap down on top of theyolks themselves because if you leave ifyou don’t have pasta crap just right ontop of that it can get super dry andthen you could develop a skin on youryolks what you don’t want also I willtake a dry erase marker and I will writeon top how many I have so if I pull outtwo yolks I’ll know that I have how manyI have left in there and I can just makea note of that and then the dry erasemarker wipes right off the Tupperwarewhen you’re done so there are my eggtipsnow you can just throw all of theingredients inside and start whiskingbut I found that I like I like gettingthe chance to just break up the whitesfirst because you know whites tend to bea little membrane me or a little bitboogery and other stuff so I’m going toadd just the sugar to begin with andwhisk that together and kind of get ourown littlenow I have seen recipes for this forpeople eat this with the hand mixer oran electric whisk and it gets it alittle bit more Airy and a little bitmore foamy I personally don’t think thatthat’s necessary by the time you add allthe other ingredients the egg whites aregonna deflate anyway and we’re notlooking for we don’t want these cookiesto rise so now I’m gonna add the meltedbutter which I melted a little earlierand let cool slightly because you don’twant to add super hot butter right thatwould actually start to cook your eggwhites a little bit which you definitelydon’t want all right now we’re going toadd the flavoring in to add the almondextract first oh my word I am out ofalmond extract think you have moredownstairs I always start with the clearextract first since the vanilla is alittle bit colored and you know anyway Iguess it does really matter they’regoing in the same place something that Ido okay okay quarter teaspoon of saltwhich I just eyeball and some flour nowwe’re going to mix this together – Idon’t want the flour to poof everywhereso I just kind of take this slow for asecondnow this is what I have found as I’vemade this or made these fortune cookiesthis is the consistency that I like it’srunny enough that you’re not gettingyou’re not getting like thick spots it’seasy to spread but it’s not so thin thatit gets too runny and expands too muchbecause we still want these to holdtheir shape so it’s greatbesides to make sure we don’t have likeany chunks of flour anywhere I’ll showyou since um just rinse my hand I’mgonna go ahead and scrape on the bottom- you never knowone more whisk okay and we are ready nowfor the next stage so next we’re goingto cook these I’m just going to take acookie sheet I used a Silpat mat when Iwas testing this recipe out I trieddoing it just on the pan itself withlike a nonstick spray and I didn’t lovethe way the batter reacted to thenonstick sprayI tried parchment paper and theparchment paper because the batter is ais a fairly wet batter and the parchmentpaper got all ripoli and then thecookies didn’t cook evenly so I foundthat I liked the Silpat mat the bestparchment paper would work I just didn’tlike it as much so you can you know ifyou care even cookies which you know I’mOCD enough that I do all right so nowhold on trying to close that so I canactually read comments there we gonow we’re going to use this small cookiescoop this is a number 60 that’s atablespoon and I’m going to make 6 plopsnow at the beginning right now thisbatter is on the run e’er side becausewe were only cooking six at a time bythe time you get to the end it doesstraight out a little bit now you canyou can put parchment paper over yourbatter to help with that and Idefinitely recommend that but I find Idon’t add any extra liquids sometimesyou’ll see people as the dog as the dogdries out and gets little thicker peopleadd more liquid to it to keep it thissame the same balance of liquefied misssorry how good your reward I’m lookingfor there but I I found that I preferredit to just even that was a little bitthicker just to still spread it out byhand and worked just fine by addingextra liquid you throw off the balanceand you get crispier darker cookies andI didn’t think worked as well so that’smy two cents so now we’re going to takea spoon and change camera angles and wecan there we gotake a spoon and we’re gonna spreadthese outI tried cooking and without spreadingthinking the oven would kind of helpthem spread and and they did spread butthey just didn’t spread quite as much asI wanted them to and then it just was alittle bit fatter and it the thethickness of a cookie wasn’t right so wewant to spread these out into aboutthree inches and try to keep them aseven as possible I found that when as Ihide to using like a frosting spatulabut I felt like I had more control usinga spoon so you do it however you wantand when I do the final pass I just kindof go past anywhere where maybe it’sgotten a little thin like it’s a littlethinner on this side I’ll bring it pastthere at the beginning the other thingyou can do if you find that you’rehaving troubles making circles you coulddo half a circleand then turn it and do the other halfof a circle just kind of depending onhow how well it goes for you and it’sokay that they’re not perfect and twomore and I like using the scoop becausethen I’m getting even even mounds ofdough that way and that I don’t worryabout my cookies being different sizesand I just kind of eyeball this but ifyou want you could draw out three inchcircles and put them on and put themunderneath the Silpat mat and you’ll beable to see the markings through theSilpat mat and you can use that as yourguide I just eyeballed it so these arenice and flat they’re about three inchesin size we’re going to cook them at 350degrees for eight minutesnow my oven has hot spots most ovens doso I’m going to cook it for four minutesand then flip it when I was doing apractice round of these what I didn’tflip it the back corner where it’s alittle bit hotter got more cooked and soit just takes it just takes a second toflip and while that was in the oven I’mgoing to be preparing my second one soI’m always going to be rotating throughtwo pans so now while that is cooking isa great time to ask any questionsslimy slime hi Joseph welcome Stardusthello love the care love the hair ohthank you so much this was one of thosedays that I was going to film and Irealized my hair was on like day eightit was kind of nasty and I’m like Ishould probably shower really fastso didn’t really do anything with it I’mI miss my short hair I miss just beingable to wake up and go but I committedto trying this whole growing out my hairthing go stick a little longerJoseph cooking is in your blood awesomeme too it’s so cool didn’t know that wasyou or youthat I know right it was actually mydaughter who I was telling her that Iwas gonna make these today and she saiddid you know that fortune cookies aren’tactually Chinese and I was like reallyso of course I had to look it up andshe’s brilliant and she’s right ofcourse um no you didn’t know you couldmake homemade fortune cookies yes youcan make ho make pretty much anythingviscosity Thank You Deb I knew someonewould know the word I was looking forevery shade that Margaret watching fromSpringtown Texas is that M near thesprings I used to live in the woodWoodlands tommrow would live area overby Houston I love Texas Texas is a greatplace to live alright I’m gonna flip thecamera angle so you guys can see thisagain as I do another round of these andagain I even eyeball this the placementof this six but like I said if you wantyou could draw on some paper underneathand then you’ll have a guide and I’musing cookie sheets that like arethicker and have like air in them versusa flat pan but you can use whatever youwant it’s all gonna work hello from NewJersey hello Rhonda welcome Mandywelcome welcome New Hampshire okay ithas been a little slow since the newyear on Tuesdays but we are going tostick with it I find that I have alittle bit of problems on this in thiscorner over here which is why I likeflipping the pan I feel like you can geta cleaner circle using the front of thespoon versus the back of the spoon sowhat I found that I was doing during mypractice round as I was doing halfcircles like that on all six getting itnice and spread[Music]and that’s three inches and thenflipping the tray around and finishingat my circles that way and I I don’tknow I found I got really nice evencircles pretty quickly that way withoutany problems so there’s one little tipfor you I made so many batches of theseso I don’t know about you guys I I loveChinese food and I like making my ownwith Chinese food in fact I have a videoon my youtube channel called better thantakeout and it has a couple it has likefive different Chinese food recipes madefrom recipes from my friend the recipecritic and I make those all the time herrecipes are fantastic I’m working on acouple of my own anyway one of myfavorite things about ordering Chinesefood is of course fortune cookies okaygoing to anyway one of the things that Ido as soon as Chinese food arrivesthere’s no golden sorry usually want theoven door closed as much as possible soyou don’t really want to take it out andshow it so I tried to go for it a butanyway so when Chinese food comes when Iorder it I always count the Catholiccookies first except a family of six andChinese restaurants can be stingy andthey don’t always give me six fortunecookies so I’m trying to be a good momand I let my kids eat them because whodoesn’t love fortune cookies but everyonce a while they’ll get they’ll be likewhoops you heard a lot of food cuz Ihave teenage boys and they’ll give memore than six and that’s always like thebest day right so by making themyourself this recipe makes 36 fortunecookies yeah so now I’m gonna give youknow five to my kids and at least thirtyone for me alright alright let’s talk alittle bit about the fortuneI just created a spreadsheet in Exceland I just started writing down I say iton my phone any time I see like a cuteanytime I see like a cute fun sayingonline at little as I’m going throughInstagram or Facebook or anything likethose I screenshot it and save it to myphone and so when I was creating these Ijust went to my phone and startedfinding cute phrases that I enjoyed andI just put them all in the Excelspreadsheet and I spaced out to all thecolumns and the height to be about twoand a half inches by half inch so thatwhen I cut them up here’s all myfortunes they were the right size sohere’s my fortunes that I made and I Idon’t have a web here on Facebook thelink is not gonna work for you yet cuzmy daughter is still working on the blogpost but obviously I had to stick to theschedule and go live and so um yeah itwill be up tonight with the recipe and Iwill include a link to mine my fortunesand they’re not all I don’t know they’renot all really fortune some of them arejust kind of phrases but anyway the funthing about this is that you can usefortune cookies for any holiday if youwant to have your own Chinese food likethere’s Taco Tuesday there needs to belike a Chinese Wednesday or something umanyway so obviously I’m doing thisbecause it’s Chinese New Year thisweekend but you could they make reallyfun Valentine’s I have seen peoplepropose using homemade fortune cookiesthey hide the ring inside I’ve seenpeople make homemade Valentines this wayand there’s a lot of things that you cando once the fortune cookies are finishedI thought about dipping these inchocolate I also with my homemadechocolate aqua recipe I use a chocolatewaffle cone homemade chocolate wafflecone for that so I was thinking bymaking chocolate fortune cookies I don’tknow why that poor to speak my mindthere’s a lot of fun things that you cando with fortune cookies so for anyholiday you could dip like half of thisin chocolate and then add sprinkles Ihave a bunch of miniature Hart Valentinesprinkles so I thought this would becute dipped in chocolate and addedsprinkles addedthat and you can personalize so many funmessages this would be fun for a familydinner and you can write things aboutthe other people who are coming youcould make the paper a little bit biggerand let it like stick out when you foldit you let it stick out of the end alittle bit and you can use these forplace cards as well so I I love havingfun with food obviously and so those aresome of the things I like to do withhomemade fortune cookies so I would loveto hear what types of things you guyswould do with homemade fortune cookiesWest Fort Worth but never okay I alsouse live in the Dallas area so I knowthat area well South Carolina I used tolive in North Carolina South Carolinabut I have been a south on it it isbeautifulDoreen hello what’s up not muchI have so as I made a batch this morningfor you guys and then I’m making a batchnow I’m going to have and my kids arewith their dad tonight I’m going to have72 fortune cookies for myself tonight sothat’s pretty much dinner pretty excitedabout thatso I have always loved sweet things witha crunch I’ve always liked thin cookiesthat have that crunch so these these aregreat they’re not overly sweet they’renot overly sweet and they have just lovefortune cookiesokay so you want to work fairly quicklyat this point okay so now what we wantto do is I’m going to take a littleminiature spatula I’m going to flipthese over oops I like them cooked about30 seconds left it is amazing what adifference thirty seconds makes withthese cookies a minute less and theywould be undercooked 30 seconds left andthey would be perfect so you can’t haveto figure that out with your own allright so I have flipped it all over andnow I have a glass and I have my paperso I’m gonna put my you can put thewords up or the words down it’s kind ofup to you so we’re going to we’re gonnagrab the we’re gonna grab the cookiesand we’re gonna fold it in half likethis we’re gonna bring it over to thecup and I’m gonna keep those and justtogether and just fold this over the lipof the cup then I’m going to take eightmuffin tin I’m gonna set that inside so[Music]there we go so you can see so you wantto work fairly quickly cuz I do cool andget crunchy kind of fast too so againtake the ends bring them together putthem over the lip of the cup right inthe center and press down and that’swhat gives us our shape and then putthem over inside the epigraph to holdthem pinchedyeah I can tell they’re already gettingfirm by the time I get to this last oneit’s probably gonna be a little toocrunchy that’s not the reason you don’twant to overcook them the edges get alittle bit hard all right luckily wehave another batch so we can work onyeah see this one is gonna break on me Ican feel it already so this oneI mean I’m I’ll put it in the thing butyou can but it’s already starting tobreak so that’s what you don’t want themto get quite so dark so next up I’mgoing to put more batter on this whilewe wait for the other ones to come outokay so now this Silpat mat is warm soif you have a third Silpat mat which iwould suggest doing that because if youadd the dough to the warmth mat it’sactually going to get gonna it’s gonnabe hard to spread cuz it gets a littlemelty okay all right next batch isalmost at the halfway mark now for methis morning’s batch took exactly eightminutes four minutes on each side butobviously this afternoon one was alittle bit darker so after this firstfour minutes I’m actually going to putin the next half for a little bit lessso I’m going to do my three inch halfcirclesand I like using I like to I like usingtwo cookie sheets instead of one becausethen I can just take one out of the ovenput the next one in and it makes thiswhole process go faster especially sinceyou can really only cook a couple at atime if you find that your cookies aregetting too dry as you’re folding themyou know how they got really crisp bythe end and I was having a hard time youcan always cook just for a time I wouldnever do more than six at a time becausethis be too much so I would say four tosix is a sweet spot for being able tobring them out of the oven and fold themwhile they’re still warm and soft let’sfinish up our half circlesagain you’re just trying to make surethese are as even as possible and youdon’t want them to be super aeratedwhich is another reason I don’t like tobeat this mixture with a hand mixer butwhy I like to use just a whisk andelicited by hand cuz yeah these are notAiry fluffy cookies they get slightlyfluffy but that is it you mostly wantthem to be crunchy most all right so ifI had been using the warm self fat Mattit would be too hard to do that becausewe’re getting though something and theyjust kind of they start to melt to theSilpat Matt and as you try to spreadthem they just kind of get all goopy andLucy in yeah ah so yeah you didn’trealize that that’s how they can gettheir shape now obviously at amanufacturing plant love manufacturingplants there’s so much fun to walkthrough and tour and see howeverything’s made I love that show howthey made that so much fun anyway themanufacturing plant they would have alittle thing that just goes hold openlike ultimately fast but yes to makethem by hand super simple and quick todo it that way so fun awesome he wantedto make you always want to make themcan’t wait to try them hope you do letme know how it goes don’t forget if youguys make any recipes that you see hereand you’re sharing on Facebook orInstagram or anywhere else go ahead andtag me with the hashtag me Ashley Mariecakes or hashtag Ashley Marie cakes ormake some awesome and I will share themin my Instagram stories you know todayis your first time watching your awesomeall thank you actually ready welcome toour live stream family we do this everyTuesday at 6:30 Eastern time 338 Pacifictime Trev what am i cooking homemadefortune cookies you’re watching forMinnesota welcome Joseph again nextweek’s video ooh that’s a good questionI haven’t scheduled just forget what ohah no that’s for dr. Seuss which isMarch not February right this dr. SeussFebruary or March his birthday anywaybefore dr. Seuss’s birthday my plan isto do my doctor redo my dr. SeussThe Cat in the Hat cake pops are superfun super cute have I made other flavorsyes I have made the chocolate versionand I’ve made this version I have notmade anything else if you wanted to makelike a strawberry or raspberry I woulduse freeze-dried strawberries or freezedried raspberries and just grind them upin your food processor if you do theraspberries don’t forget to strain outthe seeds strawberries you don’t need todo that and and use that as part of thepowder that goes into this recipe andthen they would also be really prettyit’d be pink she’s a Valentine’s datethat’d be really fun huh let’s see yeahyou know this time I took away a minuteand they’re not quite done yetso give them that it’s amazing like Isaid just how quickly it goes 30 secondsin most recipes doesn’t matter at allbut for this recipe it really reallydoes so just keep an eye on it I knowit’s not great to open your oven a lotwhile you’re baking but until you findyour sweet spot in your own oven it’snot a bad thing so yeah Wow did you seeas I was spreading out the circles thistime around that it was a little bitthicker than the first time and everytime I do some it just gets a littleslightly thicker it’s not a hugedifference if you weren’t spreading itby hand you probably wouldn’t evenreally notice but again I just had togive it a little stir with my spatula asI’m scooping up each round and the startwith spin that works great I think I[Music]think the first time I cooked them for 9minutes instead of 8 on accident andthat’s why they looked like that I foundthat eight minutes to eight and a halfminutes is a sweet spot for me in myoven typically so 20 more secondsoh good okay there you go so you can seethese are golden around the outside edgethey could probably go for ten moreseconds and be fine but yeah all rightso first thing that I do I take myspatula and this is where if they’reslightly undercooked it gets a littlebit harder it doesn’t want to flip iseasily phrasing it up there we go allright so yeah these are definitelyundercooked by a couple minutes I cantell cuz they’re not quite holding theirshape enough but as they cool they willyeah this one seems a little bit betteralright so pinch and then I like to comeover here and pitch the edges as I foldit down that I lowered so the firstbatch was like 30 seconds over thisbatch is probably 20 seconds underalright we’ll go for one more batch andof course I had no problems with thisearlier today that is what live streamwill do for ya what’s what’s theprobability everything they can go wrongwill go wrongokay when you pinch them togethersometimes I like to kind of talk oneedge underneath the other but that’s apersonal preference I just like to makesure if I just pinch it on top and thenpress it down you can get really opensides which is why I like to pinch thesides together as I fold try to closethat up a little bit moreall right so pinch those sidesthe great thing about this also is thatit cools really quickly so these firstones that we put in are already totallycrunchy and ready to go so I can takethose out and put them on a plate andthen that gives me it gives me spots formy next batch so you can see why I liketo do this in batches nice quick smoothbatches all right so let’s bring overthe ones that I already finished earliertoday wipe down the cameras we can makeit pretty I have a nice spot not to flipthat third batch over so I do this somebatches of six cookies and I get sixbatches so thirty-six cookies you canmake a smaller batch you can like cutthis in half and just do three batchesso eighteen cookies super easy I don’trecommend doubling in the recipe usuallyI say double away no big deal I don’trecommend doubling this just because ofhow much the batter consistency changeswhile I’m doing sick sick sick sick sicksick six the last batch is definitelythicker than the first batch but itworks I don’t know that I could taketwice as much time and have the batterstill work as smoothly so don’trecommend doubling I would make oh it’snot a hard matter to put together rightI would just make two different batchesif I wanted to double thisso here are some Finnish ones that Ihave out pretty in a bowl and nowthey’re not alright so I made theseearlier today and OHsee how beautifully that crunches youget that grief slight thickness nicecrunch not too big right perfectthere’s something about breaking intofortune cookies I love that shape on thehollowness that you see so you can seethat you could fit some other stuff inthere something cute and fun to sharewith summon I can you color the batteryyes you can you can totally color it thebatter I would do it before I added theflour cuz once it gets thick it getsharder to get even so when it was justlike the sugar egg whites and butter andyou’re adding the flavoring I would havethe color there cuz it’s a lot easier toget your color to distribute evenly themore liquidy it is and then after youadd your flour it won’t be a big dealbut if you forget and do it again thatwould work fine tooI wouldn’t wouldn’t you could probablydo sorry I love fortune cookies youcould probably do a mix in likesprinkles if you wanted and but Iwouldn’t go with anything thick rightcuz these are it’s a thin batter youwant to be able to spread it smoothly ifyou put any mix-ins in that can causeproblems I have some people I have seensome people do decorative designs sowhat I would recommend for that would beto take some of the batter and color itjust er than that let’s do that so firstthing I’m going to do is make my scoopsand flatten my circles and we won’t doanything fancy just because I wasn’tplanning on doing this there’s all thosethings that I was just looking atpictures earlier today a fortune cookiethen I saw a picture I’m like oh Ishould you know sometime and then rightas I was talking to you it came to mehow to do it really okay you guys I gotthese oh my wordI got this piping bag for more like areputable company and I hate them and Igot three boxes of 100 so this is one ofthose things and it’s a reputablecompany that I like their products I’mlike oh I probably love that piping bagsI don’t lesson learneddon’t buy piping bags in bulk until youhave tested them out because all rightI’m going to take a little bit of thebatter and typically I put this in abowl and stir it up but I’m just goingto do this just in do a quick cheatersaway real fastI’m gonna grab the only dye that I haveover here and hands in arm’s length itscolor oh that’s too muchseriously my oven does not like me todayhere we go batch number three so quicklyokaythis is looking better just a littlebrown on the edges is what we wantokay so OOP hold like a taco place onthe edge of a cup fold the edgestogether and fold down place in acupcake tin like a taco fold the edgesand fold down you can wear gloves if youwant cuz this definitely is warm youdon’t wanna wait till they cool ofcourse cuz then they are hard andcrunchy pinch the edges together andfold down and see how it goes alright soI have my I have some batter in a bagand I’m just needing to color alright soa little bit of batter in a bag I’mgoing to use my spoon and spread thesecircles outtrying to go quickly now because we flipthe cookies over before we fold themthis top is always going to be theoutside of our cookies that’s how thisis gonna work so I’m gonna make mycirclesalright so half circles turn the Silpatmat and you can definitely see I thinkthe thickness change from the firstbatch to this batch right I mean I canfeel the change because I’m here doingit but I’m hoping that you guys can seethat it does get a little thicker and alittle bit but not more difficult just alittle bit more sensitive to spreadingout but it still spreads nice and evenlysookay my sister thingall right so these are missing so I justused a little knife all right so thenyou can see if I cut it enough you coulddo little designs like little heartsremember would not want to add too muchmore batter than is already here so alittle goes a long way that’s why Icolored just such a small amount – allright all right so you do hearts youcould doand you can leave these as stripes onemore in there or you could take um atoothpick and you could like just pulllightly through the batter and when Isay lightly just because we don’t wantto mess up the shape that we’ve alreadycreated right hey so you do that how doI store them that’s a great questionMargaret you can I would just put themhonestly and like a paper bag bakedgoods do better in paper bags andplastic and then the paper bag willactually hold its shape right it’s likea grow at the grocery store when theysay you want paper or plastic you couldsay paper and that’s a great way tostore themI’m keep the paper bag closed of coursebut yeah I would say a paper bag um youcould use a gallon size ziploc bag ofcourse but they’re just gonna getcrushed easier I would consider ifyou’re gonna do a dip lock bag maybeblowing some air into the bag whichprobably doesn’t sound very sanitary butyou’re just making it for yourself youcould blow some air into the bag to helpkeep the bag you knowbulgy but yeah a paper bag wouldactually probably be the best way allright so I’ve had done stripes I’ve donehearts any other suggestions forsomething fun will do will do stripesagain that looks cool I guess polka dotswould be another easy one to doHey so yeah that is that is it I’m gonnabake these now um we’ll see how theyturn outbut if it’s worth doing more often andbut that is that’s kind of it that ishow you can make your own homemade yeahOh Kerry I’m a camera trouble switchtrying to sit back uh what about awhirly circle design oh that’s a greatidea a small pebble that would be a goodonestars how the Stars would be anotherreally great one so swirl stars polkadots hearts stripes you just leave thestripes yeah it’s so much fun there’s somany fun things you do you could make acouple different colors I do polka dotsof a bunch of different colors um youcould actually kind of like it as mygalaxy waffles you could actually plopdown instead of a whole tablespoon youcould do like three different colors andplop down three teaspoons and then asyou swirled it out to the three inchesthat would swirl the fortune cookiecolor so that would work as well maybeI’ll try some of those next so be fun umanyway that is it for fortune cookiesthank you so much for watching I will belive again next Tuesday doing somethingfun don’t remember what I have scheduledbut something fun um
