hey guys welcome back to my channel itis heather and in today’s video we aregoing to be making some sugar cookiesand this is going to be my first timeactually making sure these so I’mactually really excited and I doapologize it looks like I’m a littlecrooked for the camera but that’s okayum let’s just go ahead and jump rightinto the videoum and I do have the inch likedirections right here that I’m gonna befollowing I do have everything out nextto me that I need and an extra bowl justto be on the safe side so let’s see hereI did preheat the oven already to 350and it says line baking sheet withparchment paper or silicone baking matsso I just have a wax paper so I justwent ahead and put that on thereand then it says combine the flourbaking soda baking powder and salt in amedium sized bowl and set aside so Idon’t have baking powder so I’m justgonna go ahead and use baking soda likeI did in my last recipe with the coffeecake and the coffee cake actually didturn out pretty good but it does looklike because we had to cook it a littlebit longer than the recipe said to andso since we did that the bottom layer ofcake turned out like I think it burnt alittle bit because it’s like a lighterbrownish color whereas the top layer isstill that vanilla looking stuff so Ithink I just overcooked it by a littlebit because instead of doing it for fiveextra minutes I did it for 10 like adummy because it was still reallyliquidy in there so I was like you knowwhat ten minutes should be good enoughbut it was too long so oh wowalright so I got the cookie sheet linedit already i preheated the oven so flourbaking soda baking powder and salt solet’s see how much flour we need so weneed 2 and 3/4 cup so we have a 3/4 cupboard here[Music]I’m ready and then it said the bakingsoda 1 teaspoon 1/2 a teaspoon 1teaspoon of baking soda right hereand then 1/2 a teaspoon baking powderwell since we don’t have baking powderI’m just going to be using baking sodaand then a half a teaspoon of saltand it says to combine all that and setaside so let me just go ahead and mixthat real quick huh fire flower alrightand then it says to now cream the butterand sugar together in a large mixer bowlon medium speed into a light and colorand fluffy[Music]okay peaceful here okay so how muchbetter so a cup unsalted butter roomtemperature I don’t know if this isunsalted I don’t think it is but that’sokay because I’ve done this before whereI haven’t used salted butter and it saidone cup right yeah my downside abouthaving cats a lot of cat hair gets inthis stuffall right I just like to make sure thiswhole thing now this stuff isn’t goingto be room temperature but it’ll be okaybecause half of it is and half of itwon’t be so it’ll be a learning fruit orif it makes it a difference I guess youcould sayokay you know what I think that is goodenough for the butter honestly so weneed a cup of butter and then a cup and- 2 tablespoons of sugar ok cream thebutter and sugars together in a largemixer bowl I’m medium speed until lightand color and fluffy you should be ableto see the change of color happen andknow it’s readyokay so let me just double check so seechanging color happen and no it’s readyat the egg and mix until well combinedokay and then how much vanilla we need -a teaspoon[Music]okay so the next part I am going to tryand make some room over there so thatway I can set my camera up so that wayyou guys can see because it says toafter the vanilla and the egg which Ialready did it says to add the dryingredients and mix until the dough iswell combined it will be thick andshouldn’t be sticky do not over mix onceit’s well combined use a rubber spatulato help it come together to form a morecohesive ball that’s what I meant my badokay so give me just two secondsokay so let’s see if there is some roomright here and goes down just too farthere we gogood[Applause][Applause][Applause][Music][Applause]usually I wouldn’t do that where I addit all in rightto overmixall that works[Music][Applause][Music][Music]and then I will obviously take you knowspatula and stir it up and everything soI’m gonna go ahead and move this backover here so I know that it said to usea rubber spatula but as we all saw in mycoffee cake one arse is broke and it gotthrown away because I was not trying tohave that same mistake happen again inthis video all right so blah do not evermix once as well combined use a rubberspatula to help it come together to form[Music]looks like I have something going onhere dismiss that hopefully that isn’tflout in the video cuz it was an alarmall right so we’ve got that pretty muchin a ball and it says to create one anda half tablespoon sized balls of cookiedough gently roll into a ball then rolleach ball and the additional sugar tocoset the balls on the baking sheet soI’m just gonna you know go ahead andsprinkle the baking sheetand honestly they’re probably not goingto be like perfect little one and a halftablespoon balls but that’s okay andsays create cookie dough okay gentlyroll into a ball gently roll into a ball[Music]well might have to get a bowl of waterand wet my hands while I’m doing thiscuz that was a huge ball so we’reprobably doing that big number but giveme two seconds and I’m gonna get somewaterokay so I’ve got my bowl right hereokay these are not gonna be perfectballs cuz I can’t make perfect balls forwhatever reason I just can’t okayI can’t wait to honestly see how thesecome out because I’m not a baker sousually if like I just buy the pre-madecookie dough stuff and do it that waybut this time I decided you know whatscrew it I’m home all the time might aswell you know start learning how tofrickin cook were not even necessarilycooking baking maybe I should havechilled the dough even though it said itdidn’t need to be chilled but maybe Ishould’ve maybe that would have helpedwith that stickiness but I don’t evencareI’m just excited for these honestlyyeah these boss are definitely notperfect circular balls back oh well whocares not me and either just my familybecause guess what they’re gonna beeaten anyways probably gonna end uphaving to get another cookie sheet outhonestlyit seems like once I put the sugar on itit’s definitely not a sticky maybe Ishould have just you know put some flourinstead of whole water maybe I shouldjust done some flour so that way youknow it wouldn’t stick to me but oh welllike I said learning curve do it nexttimenow for this batch I’m going to wash myhandsprobably throw this batch in real quickand then you grab another cookie sheetit’s a dang wax paperokay give me two seconds[Music]these are just gonna be some big cookiesI feel like honestly and sorry I don’ttalk a lot during my videos I know I’mstill kind of you know getting used toit and everything and gettingcomfortable with like pretty muchtalking to myself but not talking tomyself because I mean technically I amtalking to myself because I’m makingthis video for you too but technicallyI’m only talking to myself for everybodyelse[Music]I will probably just do these two firstand then put these ones in the fridgefor now to get them a little bit colderso that way I don’t have to worry aboutthis sticky like you know it’s stickingto me and not wanting to roll perfectlyif there’s enough to which they’re mostlikely will be and I’m sorry if youheard my stomach growling I am hungryand are almost in our time here but Iwanted to do this first because I needto make sure that this video is uploadedby Fridaythat was easy enough I didn’t even haveto do nothing it just rolled on in therewhoops now I’m gonna be really sad ifthese don’t turn out honestly be so sadthose ones have two minutes left so itlooks like you guys will get to see whatit looks like when they’re done cuz therecipe said to only cook them for sevenminutes so let’s hope I did everythingthat I was supposed to do like thosecookies were too close I think this isgonna be the last one that I’m gonna dofor now until later I’ll be back laterto finish them where’s my handsall right we’ve only got a coupleseconds left and I think that flips itaround so that’s yeah so it looks likethey’re not quite done yet so let’s I’mjust gonna go ahead and do a couple moreminutes it looks like they’re startingto flatten out though but yeah it lookslike I did make the cookies a little toobig so let’s go ahead and do mmmagain I gotta clean this all up as yousaw the flour went everywhere I’m gonnado five more minutesand then check back so I will see youguys in a couple minutes once I checkback and see if those are done and yeahas you can see the counters are a littlecluttered that’s okay I mean it’s notlike super cluttered that all right I’llcheck back in okay guys so I did saythat I would be back to check in on howthe cookies came out so while I wasletting the second batch cook I hadrealized at that moment that I had up so I you know mixed all thethings together was reading theingredients as I was going well my dumbass forgot to add the brown sugarluckily it was only two tablespoons butstill that two tablespoons could havemade a big-ass difference for thosecookies but my husband said that theystill taste great they you know he’salready had two of them but they stilltaste like sugar cookies so that’s aplus side so next time probably in abouta weekI’ll make a new batch and it will beproperly done and I don’t think I mixedit enough because when I was rereadingthe recipe after letting the secondbatch to cook it said to mix until wellcombined and it should not be stickywell the dough was very sticky as we sawso maybe I didn’t you know mix it longenough I’m not really sure about thatmaybe I’ll just I don’t know it’s alearning curve like I said I just stillcan’t believe I forgot to add the brownsugar like a dumbass but let’s see howthese cookies turned out I’m excited sothe first batch after I took them out Iwent ahead and smashed him down becausethey weren’t smashing down and then thesecond batch I did before I put them inand I feel like these ones look morelike you know the ones that you get fromthe store kind of not like really butkind of whereas these ones just looklike regular cookies and it dawned on mewhen I realized that I forgot the brownsugar I was like you know why don’tthese look like you know actual sugarcookies with you know the little browntint on top stuff like that and then Iwas like oh that’s probably why didn’tadd the brown sugar like a dummy butthat’s okay because they still came outgreat except for these ones I don’t knowlike they they both look really goodhonestly except for these ones kind oflook more like the ones that you’d buyfrom a store but I don’t know let meknow what you guys think I think theycame out semi ok I’m sorry the lightingis really crappy so I should just standlike this but uh so I am going to finishthe other batch a little bit latertonight I probably won’t have it in thisvideo um because that’s just I mean Idon’t know I might not even do with themtoday I might just do that tomorrow orsomething or save them and do them forEaster the rest of them for Easter Iwill be doing an Easter video like whatwe have for Easter and everything so mySunday video will not be uploaded at 5a.m. like my other videos have been itwill be uploaded most likely later on inthe afternoon because I’m probably goingto be putting
