Making Sourdough Bread!

Hello, my name is Karen. This video filmed over a three day period. I’m still in the learning stage of making sourdough so welcome to my experiment!

Starter Recipe:
ratio of 1 cup flour to 1/2 cup of water
remove half the starter and feed two times a day using same ratio of flour to water

6-7 cups of flour
1 cup of sourdough starter
1/2 cup if coconut oil (melted)
1 tablespoon of salt
1/2 cup of honey
1.5 cups of filtered water
Night before baking bread combine flour, starter,oil,salt,honey,and water. Knead for 15 minutes. Add just enough flour it pulls away from bowl. Add water if it is too dry. Place dough in coconut oil greased glass bowl. Cover with tea towel. Let rise overnight or up to 24 hours. Next day split dough in half. place each half in a greased loaf pan. allow to double in warm place, covered with tea towel. This takes between 4-12 hours depending on how warm your kitchen is.
Bake bread for 30-35 minutes at 400 degrees.
