good afternoon families how are youtoday I’m glad you’re here it’s Mondaywe’re I’m gonna call it holy Monday it’sMonday of Holy Week and yesterday wasPalm Sunday and we got to celebrateJesus and writing in on the donkey andpraising him that he was coming and inrecognition that that the prophecieswere being fulfilled and so today is theLast Supper here’s a picture of the LastSupper and I move it a little bit closerso you can see see that’s Jesus at thetable with his disciples yep and so youknow Luke at 2219 it tells us and hetook the bread and he gave thanks and hebroke it and he gave it to them and hewas saying this is my body given for youdo this in remembrance of me Luke 22 19remember remember that is the key wordthat Jesus spoke to the disciples thatnight that they ate together for thevery last time the meal that they atetogether that night is known to us asthe Last Supper because it was reallyliterally the last time and the LastSupper that Jesus would have with hisdisciples and as they sat around thetable Jesus shares with him that helooked forward to this meal before hesuffered and Luke 22 14 through 16 itsays it’s dead that he takes the breadhe gives thanks to the God for the breadI mean in he tells the disciples thatevery time if they eat the bread theyshould remember himand then he takes the wine and I havelike juice right here and he tells themthat this cup of wineit symbolizes when they drink it thatthey should remember him you know it’simportant for you to know that whatJesus was saying is that this bread andthis wine was actually his body andblood and he was saying that thesethings were symbols of his body this wasa symbol of his body this was a symbolof his blood and he was getting ready todie on the cross and he wanted hisdisciples to think and to remember himevery time they ate bread and drink wineas Christians we celebrate this assomething called communion our churchcelebrates this once a month we aregiven bread and dip it in juice into thecup and we would put it into our mouthswe are remembering Jesus I know with mykids once they come and they they havean opportunity to take communion in thechildren’s section we actually Iactually pray with them to help them toremember that they’re not just takingbread and dipping it in a cup butthey’re remembering what Jesus did forthem on the cross so um today we’reactually having miss Kayla with us she’sgonna teach us how to make bread andit’s a really fun easy activity that youand your children can do together and Ihear it’s really yummy bread andactually this is a loaf that miss Kaylamade for me so my family and I will eatthis in remembrance ofJesus tonight when we actually have ourspaghetti so and then the other thingthat we talked about is that again thosethings are symbols and I want you and Itelling you to maybe look up somesymbols I have some symbols right herein the resurrection eggs and I’m notgoing to tell you what they are but I’mgonna let you as your families talkabout them together as I show you whatthey areand see if you can help your childrenunderstand what those symbols mean forus during this season a Holy Week andEaster so I’m going to start with theblue one and in the blue one I have alittle donkey see that and the donkey isa symbol of something that happenedyesterday and in my people oh I havesome coins wonder what those coins arefor those coin symbolize families greatopportunity for you to talk about andthe next one we just did talk about thisone this one is a little cup see thatit’s a little cup what do you think thecup symbolizes we things from like the goldenarches remind us of McDonald’s can youthink of any other symbols that we seein our lives I’ve given you a wholebunch of symbols well by giving you 12for today that represent what we’relearning this week and again I hope youenjoy our next segment with miss Kaylabye guyshi everyone for this you don’t know me Iam Kayla Gannon I can be socialchildren’s director at st. marks UnitedMethodist Church and I am super excitedto be here with you today today we aregoing to be talking about the Lord’sSupper and why Jesus called himself thebread of life okay so who’s ready tomake some bread I have this reallyawesome recipe that Miss Sharon hasshared with me it’s called easy homemadebread the best part about this recipe isit only requires six ingredients andthese six ingredients are some that mostof you are already gonna have at yourhouse so you’re going to be able to makethis really easy super yummy deliciousrecipe with your family so you can breakbread with your family at the dinnertable okay so here’s a look at these sixingredients that you need you’re goingto need some watersalt yeast sugar oil and flour that isitso I’ve already separated out all theingredients that we’re gonna need forthis and to the measuring cups I didn’thave to do that on the video with youguys okay so now that we have ouringredients all set up and ready to go Ihave already everything measured out thefirst thing it says this to do is topreheat the oven to 400 degrees I’vealready done that the very next stepthat we have to do takes a little bitand so it has this take our warm waterit has to be warm water and I will makesure you guys get a copy all of this awarm cup of water and we are going toadd our sugar and we are going to addour yeast and this has to sit I’m goingto mix it up just a little bit this hasto sit and get real foamy and let theeast’yeast activate so while that’s settingI’m going to begin the next step okay soI have mixed the sugar the yeast and thewater together for about five or tenminutes until it starts getting foamy soI’m going to set this aside over thenext two we can kind of watch it it’sreally good the next thing we’re goingto do is add our dry ingredients wantsus to add the flour if two and a halfcups of flourand the salt you want to make sure thisgets mixed up really really welltogether and I mix this in the bowl thatI’m going to put on to my mixer so wedon’t have to dirty up anything else soI have mixed the salt and the flour upreally really good we still have just afew minutes left on the yeast so I’mgoing to let that sit for just a secondokay the mixer mixing up and it’s justabout that lift it up so we can see whatit looks like being all mixed up looksmuch different than it did a few minutesago so now we are going to dump it intoa pan and let it sit for ten minutes sothat the dough can rise okay so our nextstep the dough is done I fly right hereI’m going to take just a little bit offlour I’m gonna put it on my cleancounter top right here so that I canmake our bread into a loaf I have a oilbread pan right here so I’m just goingto grab it with my hands and all cameoff really easy so I’m going to put youguys downI’m kneading it just a little bit moreand I’m forming it into a whole loaf ofbread and it’s gonna be really smallwhen I put it in my bread panI’ll show you guys or just our hand seethen just made it into one lock so nowI’m going to just set it my bread panI’m gonna get a cold squeeze it out andI’m gonna lay it right on top of mybread and that has to sit there we gothat has to set for ten minutes okay soyou guys know the coolest part aboutbread it gives us so much nutrition andit’s abstains us physically and it keepsus going and it gives us energy to runaround and play all the fun sports anddo all the fun things that we want to dobut the best part about it is that breadis just like Jesus Jesus offers useternal life and he sustains usspiritually he doesn’t just care aboutthat hunger filling in our tummy guys hecares about fulfilling our hearts andloving us eternally and that is just thecoolest thing in the entire world I wantto read you guys a scripture while thisis rising it is John 651 I am The Livingbread that came down from heaven ifanyone eats of this bread he will liveforever okay so now that our bread isdone risinglook how much bigger it is an abandonedI’m going to add one little step thatour recipe doesn’t call for in thislittle container I have is egg white Ilike to do just a little egg white washall on the top of any bread that I makeour rolls or anything that it just givesit a nice little crisp makes it tasty soI’m just taking my silicone brushdipping it in the egg whites and lightme going over the top and the sides andI’m good so now I’m going to add it intothe oven I’ve already set it at 400 soI’m going to put it in there right thereand it’ll be done in 25 minutes ourtimer is going off for our bread solet’s turn this off and see what ourbread looks like very good job there butit smells amazing it looks amazing and Icannot wait to eat it and break bed withmy family tonight I hope you guys hadfun I know I did I would like to closethis out my prayer dear father we thankyou for sending Jesus the bread of lifeso that we may eat and never die help usto share the story of Jesus with othersamenI hope you guys have a great holy weekand enjoy making bread with your familybye
