Recipe ng kwek kwek batter:
1 cup All Purpose Flour
1/4 cup cornstarch
1/2 tsp baking powder
salt
pepper
1 cup water
1/2 tsp annato powder (achuete)
Mix everything together except water and achuete.
Add 1 cup water or more until it becomes batter consistency.
Then for the colour add 1/2tsp of annato powder.
cooking the kwek-kwek:
Boil the eggs (chicken or quail eggs)
Heat oil for deep frying
After the eggs are boiled, remove shells.
Dredge eggs on cornstarch before putting it to the batter mixture.
when egg is fully coated, deep fry until coating becomes bright orange or crisp.
Remove from oil.
Tada! May quickie kwek kwek ka na.
