[Music]alright guys welcome back to the frugalhomestead so today I wanted to bring youa different kind of recipe than what youused to see in on this channel a lot oftimes you’ll see us do things that arejust so old school and so decadentdesserts caning today I’m gonna bringyou something different today we’regonna do waffles that you can actuallyeat and enjoy and not feel guilty aboutthem and if you want seconds you don’thave to feel bad about it because thesewaffles are gonna be protein powderbased waffles and they will use onlythree ingredients an egg protein powderand baking powder it’s gonna be realquick real simple real easy one butbefore we get into it each waffle peoplemake is gonna be different based uponwho uses what power powder I’m using thePD science frosted cupcake here this onehas 120 calories per scoop it has Ibelieve 27 servings in this and it’s 24grams of protein and only one gram ofcarb based on that and I’ll put a littlebox up here to explain if you buy yourwaffle mix and it’s in a box like HungryJack you’re gonna have a whole boatloadof calories a whole boatload of carbsfats I mean you’ll have some fiber butjust I mean there’s some serious numbersand then when you double that number tohave two waffles you’re really gonna getslammed the proteins not that great sowe’re looking at a healthier option nowI’m about six foot one about 251 rightnow I’ve already lost 10 pounds as theNew Year I’ve been working towardsbringing it down but I like to eat and Ilike the old-school ways deed I like toget up in the morning howwaffles so we’re going to be doing amuch healthier version because we’regonna be under 200 calories all said anddone and I mean out the door all saidand done so let’s get startedwe open up a protein powder as I saidthis is frosted chocolate I mean frostedchocolate cupcake I will have links tothis in the description box if you’reinterested in an upcoming video we willtalk about how to get protein powdermuch cheaper than this that’s prettymuch just as good so one scoop in thebowl one egg in the bowl now mysuggestion be used like a teaspoon orless of baking powder whatever you wantnow this you don’t have to do if I justmix this like that is it’ll mix up andthe more I mix it the thinner it willget and then it’ll make like waffle mixbut I found that if you just put youknow just a little bit of water in ithelps the mixing process with less theegg go slow at first so the proteinpowder doesn’t poof all in the air nowyou’re gonna look and say well there’snot enough moisture in there watch themore I mix thisyou can see how it’s starting to thindown and the more I mix it the thinnerit’s gonna get but I want to speed it upbecause I don’t want to be here all dayso right just about another teaspoon ofwater just want to fit it down fast itreally doesn’t matter now as I saidwhatever protein powder you use is gonnadirectly affect how this works if you’retrying to gain weight eat regularwaffles or if you want to do thisbecause you don’t want to gain fat butyou want to gain weight you can use themass gainer protein powder but if you goby something like body fortress atWalmart that stuff’s like 200 and somecalories and has a lot more carbs andfats so you kind of get out of this whatyou spend so there’s our mixture we’vegot our this one’s a fake favor we’refrom Walmart $20 it’s already preheatedyou definitely want to hit it with somecooking spraytake your mixnow your cooking time is gonna beanywhere from 30 seconds to a minutejust so you know so close that down flipit over and we’re going to let it cooknow this is a 7 inch technically thismix really works best for a 6 inch but a7 inch works fine the more you thin itwith water the more it’s gonna spreadout but I don’t care if mine’s perfectround that’s also based on the proteinpowder you used because we also use agold standard by oh in nutrition they’reoptimal nutrition and that one is astrawberry and it’s not as thick so whenI mix it up it makes it thinner and itbasically makes the entire the entirething now I don’t know if you can seebut it’s gonna smoke some and just likeit does when you make a waffle but whata hundred percent stop smoking youdefinitely should get it up and thenokay so we’re gonna open this up as youcan seeso as you can see really nice wafflereally firm so sugar-free originalpancake syrup 2 tablespoons 15 caloriesnow what I like to do is put my twotablespoons on basically and I juststreak it cuz you gotta remember there’sa chocolate cupcake so it has kind ofthat flavor so it doesn’t need its ownso now we’ve got 15 calories there yesit does hold its shape tears just like aand it’s delicious I mean I don’t Idon’t know what else to say the numberson this like the macros are crazy makinga messso I’ll top my head that was really likea medium-sized egg but we’ll call it alarge eggthat’d be 70 you got 120 calories forthis so that’s 190 so I would guess withsyrup let’s just call it 200 200calories for that you got 24 grams ofprotein if I remember my numbers rightthat means you’re gonna have about twocarbohydrates compared to probably 20some for this waffle I meanthe true go I’m telling you now thatsaid another thing tell you if you tookthis waffle and I’ll cut it like thisjust to show you but if you had cut itin half you can make an awful goodsandwich like that and put like an eggor some bacon in between it they have amuch better option the trick here is yesyou’re reducing calories ever soslightly and I’m going to show you guysanother way in another video how toreduce the calorie content a little moreon it and some other tricks but the bigthing is you’re cutting out all thecarbs so that basically makes this ketocarnivore you know these diets whereyou’re trying to reduce the carbs itbasically reduces the carbs to nothingand you’re lucky waffles you also canuse it for like sandwiches and you knowanother thing we were talking about isusing it like a dessert so you put awaffle down fill the inside with somekind of fruit or something or somepeanut butter and then put anotherwaffle on top or split in one waffle inhalf soit’s just amazing I’ve been eating theseevery morning now because instead ofdiets we just stop with diet to trackour calories now we know we need to bein for deficit as long as I hit myprotein numbers every day which is onegram from my body weight and as long asI take and hit my calorie count that’sall it really matters I am mindful tostay under the carbs that I’m supposedto have for the day and I do make aneffort to get enough fiber which usuallyisn’t a problem but you should reallytry this guys this is simple simplesimple simple now I will say it takes awhole scoop of this and that’sessentially probably 90 cents a scoop iswhat that actually costs me breakingdown when you buy it in this smallform-factor but like I said we’ll begetting back with you with another kindof protein that if you do buy it inlarger amounts to pay upon with specialthat run you could get it as low asthird thirty five cents a scoop allright for the pretty much the exact samenumbers the calorie counts a little bitlower so thanks for joining us
