Funny Cake Pie
Cake layer:
1/2 C. sugar
1/4 C. shortening
1 egg
1/2 C. milk
1 t. baking powder
1 C. flour
1/2 t. vanilla extract

Chocolate layer:
1/2 C. sugar
1/4 C. cocoa
1/3 C. hot water
1/4 t. vanilla

pastry for 9″ pie

I made a half-batch of Pam’s Perfect pie crust: https://www.thepioneerwoman.com/food-cooking/cooking-tips-tutorials/a10320/pams-pie-tutorial/ but substituted 1/2 C. of butter for the butter & lard.
