I Made Key Lime Pie: Bake With Me! | Key Lime Pie Recipe | Cloudsurfer Andy

I watched and read a bunch of different recipes on YouTube and Pinterest.
Ultimately, this is my recipe:
INGREDIENTS
1 Packet Tennis biscuits
About an inch thick piece of butter
1 can condensed milk
3 egg yolks
1tspn lime zest
1/3 cup freshly squeezed lime juice
300ml Fresh cream for topping

-Preheat oven to 160 degrees celcius
-Crush tennis biscuits. Melt butter in the microwave and mix together. Place in base of pie dish and press down.
-In a bowl, mix together egg yolks, lime zest, lime juice and entire can of condensed milk.
(You may also add 1 tspn vanilla essence for added flavor)
-Pour condensed milk mixture over tennis biscuit base and level it out
-Bake in oven for 15 minutes. Mixture should still be pale after baking.
-Refrigerate overnight
-Whisk fresh cream depending on how much you want
-Add whipped cream on top of pie and make it look pretty
-Enjoy!

[Music]good morning you guys welcome to a newvideo today as Tuesday it is day 12 ofthe lockdown if you are new here my nameis Andy I’m a South African based flightattendant and I am currently in lockdownso not currently flying and I’m justvlogging a lot about my daily life todaythis video is going to be focused on metrying to make something yummy for myboyfriend’s brother and his wife becausethey have been sending us a lot of yummytreats so I wanted to return the favorI decided to make a key lime pie justbecause I’ve always seen that like onPinterest or InstagramKeegan’s sister-in-law also was an aupair in the US just like me so why notgift them with an American dessert Ithought it would be just fun I alsoreally want to taste it so I am makingtwo batches of key lime pie today whichI feel like is a little bit overreachingbecause it is my first time trying tomake this pie but hey that’s just how Iam why not go all the way you know sowish me luck I’m gonna go and try tomake it right now I’m probably going tovoice over a lot of this video becauseKeegan is working and like the diningroom and I’m gonna be in the kitchen andI don’t want to be like obnoxiouslyscreaming at my camera while I do thisso I’m just gonna go about it and thenjust voice over this a little bit lateron like right now I’m pretty sure he’son a work call so I don’t really want todisturb him you can’t even see me inthis video hey guys first things first Ineed to mix up the crushed rock tennisbiscuits these guys with some meltedbutter I’m trying to make double lookI’m trying to make two pies at once hereso I’m gonna eyeball the hell out ofthisso I used about an inch thick piece ofplain unsalted butter and melted thatdown and mix that with an entire packetof tennis biscuits for just one pie andthen you can see me pouring it into thetray and then flattening it down just tocreate a nice rest okay so that wholepacket was only enough for one base Istill need to make the second one we canuse those cookies for the second oneokay guys so obviously this pie iscalled key lime pie and we’re supposedto use limes from what is it the FloridaKeys or something oh you can’t see myface but we have a lime tree in thebackyard so I just went and got us therefew times from a lime tree I need tofirst zest the lines and then I need thejuice through the lands as well there’sa lot of flavor in the zest of the limeso even if you can’t afford to use a tonof lights at least get just one just forthe cyst and then you can use bottledlime juice for the rest of your sop thisis all the zest I had the patience tomake I need to go get more lines now Ineed a third of a cup okay this is howmuch lime juice I managed to get I don’tknow if that’s how much I’m supposed tohave I know I’m supposed to have a thirdof a cup pumper pie but yeah we’ll justhave to ration it and see hey becausethis is after all of these limes and alot of muscle and sweat[Music]okay so this recipe calls for three eggyolks so here you see me just separatingthree eggs I did this for each of thepies that are made by the way and then Ijust throw in some of the lime zest sothe lime juice and mix it all together[Music][Music]after that I add the entire cancondensed milk into the mixture and thenI just whipped it and worked it andwhipped it until it became this nicesoft pale sort of yellow sort of colorthere is so much flavor in this you cansmell the lime and it smells so good andthen I went and I poured that mixtureright into the dish spread it out justto make sure it was level and threw theminto the oven basically so it’s reallystraightforward recipe put it on ovenfor 15 minutes and clean the kitchen upbecause yesterday was the day that Iclean the entire house and I refuse tolet another mess build up they’re doneokay not really but look at my pies okayso this one got a little bit more colorthan I expected but I think it shouldstill be fine I have to make these coolovernight actually and then I’m gonnacream on top so I will see you guystomorrow guys it is the next day and itis time for us to finally finish thesepies today all I have to do is whisk upsome fresh cream plop it on top make itlook pretty and in the pie is done solet’s do that yes perfect a bunch ofcream on top this no guys look at howpretty it turned out to make it lookextra pretty yeah just some lime guysdon’t forget it’s really important tokeep your pie refrigerated overnightbefore you decide to eat it or top itwith cream I don’t know why but everyrecipe are a to say that it had to
