Happy Thanksgiving 2019 I’m Ruth Ann andI want to share with you and experimentand hopefully we’ll have some goodresults every year for Thanksgiving Ilike to make a pie I like to make itwith my girls but it’s so busy and youcan’t make pie like the week before ithas to be a few days before for it to begood so I’ve been reading a lot aboutfreezing and baking pies I decided totry an experiment this year a littlerisky I know everybody on Thanksgivingthey’re expecting good apple pie buthere we goall right in October in the middle ofOctobermy daughter tearsa she’s 13 she and Imade a pie together and then myeight-year-old daughter Kara she and Imade a pie together and we did the crustwe did the filling it’s all kind of alittle different than how I wouldnormally make it but I’m really hopingthis worse so I wrapped it up in foilthree layers of plastic wrap I have thedirections there’s just a little bit ofsome freezer stuff on there so okay sowe still got to cut the slits in themjust like you know you would do a frozenpie and all right you just kind of pokeyour knife in there and my oven is at450I read varying temperatures varyingtimes but I think this one was onPillsbury so we’re really hoping thisworks they’re gonna go in the oven at450 the ovens already preheatedand they go in for let’s see here I haveto look at my paper actually prizes arein there okay wait a minute this one wasthe carrots okaycaris is on the left okay so it saysheat oven to 450 when preheated removedpie cut slits placed in the oven bake 25minutes okay so I’m gonna set my timerfor 25 minutes we then are supposed toreduce the heat to 375 and make 40 to 50minutes I’ll let you know how this goesokay we’re back I’m here with my husbandTim test taster and I gotta tell youguys about 10 minutes agoit started smoking in here because theJews from the pie was leaking out so yesmake sure you put that cookie sheet onthe shelf underneath the pies so Tim isactually really really picky with thispies do you want to him yes let me tellyou a little sir I got the camera okayall right so when we were first marriedmy wife and I had a discussion she wouldspend all this time in disagreementdiscussion about pies because she wouldspend all this time making pies I saidhoney why don’t you just go to the storeand buy a Sara Lee and she got reallyhuffy or mad and from then on she’s beenon a mission to prove that she can bakea better pie which she does but so shetook this pie she made a few weeks agoand frozen so my guess is gonna tastelike a frozen pipe we’ll find out allright all right I had visions of smokebillowing as I opened this so rocketscience please got bubbly they bubbledup it doesn’t that’s here’s thisall right pass the smell test so my mainconcern is how it’s going to turn outhe’s crazy[Music]mmm the apples do taste fresh I’ve gotto the crest yet apples definitelybetter than store-bought okay all rightget to the crest part that’s what we’rewaiting to find outthey’ve the crust tastes fresh I gottataste any freezer hand are you slurringyou’re not lying[Music]okayit really doesn’t doesn’t taste likefrozen pipes and I’ve eaten a lot ofthem trust me I did get this size byaccidentwell thanks Tim good morning hopeeverybody has a great day[Music]
