Delicious Meat Pies / Mutton Patties/Nigerian Meat Pie made with and without oven

The aroma of freshly baked meat pie is one that I so vividly remember while growing up in Nigeria. So here I have recreated the traditional Nigerian Meat Pie recipe with a little enhancement to the flavour of the crust and also shown how you can easily bake them at home without an oven also.

INGREDIENTS
FILLING:
450g Minced Meat
3 Tbsp Oil
1 medium carrot
1 medium onion
2 tsp minced garlic
2 tsp red pepper or green chilli
1 tsp curry powder or seasoning
1 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp black pepper
salt to taste
1 tsp ketchup or tomato Puree
1 Tbsp Flour or breadcrumbs
1/3 cup or 80ml water

PIE DOUGH
3 cups or 370g All purpose Flour
1 Tbsp Sugar
1 tsp Salt (reduce to 1/2 if using salted butter)
90g (1/3 cup) Cold Margarine
90g (1/3 cup) cold butter
2 tsp baking powder
3/4 cup or 180ml Cold milk
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp Curry powder or seasoning
