on college dating & making pancakes

[Music]hey guys what’s upI’m hydrating yesterday while we wereall having dinner there was somethingthat was a little bit spicy and my dadloves spicy food and I don’t really loveit that much I was like is it because weexperience spice differently ie histaste buds are less sensitive and mineare more sensitive so dojos have lessand it touches me more oh is it that weexperience it the same way but likesthat more and I don’t it totally kept meup at night you already know what timeit is[Laughter]I’m watching Megan drinks podcast calleddon’t blame me and oh my god it’s sogood I’ve been watching this for yearsnow and it’s basically an advice podcastfor people calling for twice and sheanswered listening to other people’sproblemsit’s just so soothing sometime[Music]Samantha’s logging site right now andthey have like a post about like giftguides and what to buy people for giftsand whatnot and it reminded me of thistime where I was like sort of livinggood friends with this person and theirbirthday was coming up and I like all ofwinter break I was just low-keystressing about what to buy them becauseI sometimes stress about but the giftsif like I’m sort of close to a personbut aren’t that close to a person but Istill have to like give them a presentand I just don’t know what to get them Istress out about it and then afterwinter break just a couple of days backinto the semester thanks Allah called itquits and one of the first thoughts thatcame to my mind why I don’t have toworry about buying you a gift anymorenot my problem anymoreanyone ever like stops being friendswith you breaks up with you breakupswith youbreaks up with you I like Dom C orwhatever it may be at least you know youdon’t have to buy them a birthday giftanymoreso I just woke up from a nap and I wannamake some pancakes making pancakes forquite some time now but they just neverquite turn out right though today Idecided to follow the recipe exactly andyou see what happens so this is anadventure hold my hands and let’s go ahI just flipped all three of my pancakesexcessively great things can happen toyou if you follow the recipe kidsrebellion is overrated just okay so I’mdone they kind of look like glorifiedrotis but please make a break so likethat’s good so the bad cakes were had Icould not finish all of them so my momgenerously decided to eat the last oneone of my favorite films is how to besingle oh my god I love that though it’sa little cheesy rom-com ask oddlyempowering to watch the pressure to dateand be in relationships just alwaysexists and even now now that it’s lockeddown and you can’t even meet peoplethere’s still that this whole thing withlike walk down romance and zoom datesand whatnot and it’s like okay is thatno escaping it is it always is going toexist it is pressure to fade orromanticization of romance but I wouldlike to quote what one of my reallyclose friends a scheana said to me infirst year when we were having adiscussion like this and she said to methat she really wants to experiencecollege being single because this is thetime where she’s going to like learnmore about herself and be independentand whatnot so if there’s so muchemphasis on being independentwhy isn’t there that much emphasis onbeing single because there’s sort ofsimilar things I mean of course you canbe independent and be in a relationshipat the same time they’re not mutuallyexclusive butI don’t know I don’t know why isn’tanyway this is like a whole thing ofmine but like when ashlynn said that tome that really resonated with me andthat’s like an idea that I keep comingback to because even in college there’sso much pressure today like you see allof these really seemingly put togethercouples who are just like reallycommitted or like really serious orwhatever it may be and like if you’renot in one of those it just means ifyou’re like well what am I am i doingsomething wrong or whatever it may bebut yeah and also I’ve noticed that incollege relationship the last like twoweeks to a month or one year plus likethis no in-between that I know of likefrom what I’ve seen an experience likethere’s no in-between and I think thatsays a lot because in college you eitherlike find someone and you just cling onto them for four years which is which isnot a bad thing maybe maybe that’s thelove of your life go with it I’m notjudging you or you just change soquickly in college that you outgrowpeople at that same speed but yeahanyways I was thinking of that todaywhile watching full house and okay alsoI really feel the need to mention that’slike to any parents watching this orlike anyone who feels like oh it’s likeall of these western films making kidsin India feel like they have to date orwhatnotthat’s not true because there’s alsofilms like Janet Lee Argentina twostatesKuch Kuch Hota hair and whatnot like allof these Indian films old and new thatput a real emphasis on dating in collegeand falling in love in college so it’snot just Western pop culture it’s Indianpop culture[Music]so I think I’ll end this video here I’mwaiting for my meeting to begin and inthe meantime I’m editing this very videoooh strange and I going to finish mybook
