I Tried Making Hotteok. Korean Fried Sweet Pancake. A Must Try Street Food Snack! Also known as Hotteok, Hoddeok or Hodduk, 호떡, this is the recipe that I follow and tweak a little to my preference.
I had first in Busan and I loved how generous they are with their sunflower seeds. In Seoul they had slightly different recipe but still pretty good. Since I can’t find them in Malaysia, I had no choice but to try make it myself.
INGREDIENTS
Dough
1 all purpose flour
1/4 cup rice flour
1/2 tsp fine sea salt
1 tsp brown sugar
1 tsp instant dry yeast
1/2 cup warm milk
A bit of cooking oil
Filling (I eyeballed my fillings but if you need measurements, here you go)
1/4 cup dark brown sugar
1/4 tsp cinnamon powder
2 tbsp nuts of your choice
