How to make Patishapta Pithe | Nutritious Bengali Pancakes Recipe

Patishapta is the Indian version of pancakes. The only difference being pancakes are thicker and do not come with filling. Popularly a Bengali dish, Patishapta is a thin pancake that is stuffed generally with a coconut filling.

Ingredients:
For the filling:
– 2 tbsp ghee
– 1 coconut (grated)
– 250g khoya
– 1/2 cup milk
– 7 tbsp sugar
– 2 cardamom
For the batter:
– 1 bowl of white flour
– 1 tbsp sugar
– 1 cup of milk

Process:
– Add ghee in a wok and let it heat.
– Add grated coconut and khoya in the wok, followed by sugar.
– Mix well. Keep stirring until the ingredients bind well.
– Add cardamom powder and mix well. Then turn off the flame.
– Add 1 tbsp sugar to a bowl of white flour.
– Gradually add milk while stirring (to avoid lump formation), till it reaches the consistency as shown in the video.
– Cover and keep the batter for half an hour.
– Take portions and roll the coconut filing into a cylindrical shape.
– On a heated pan, spread the batter into pancake’s shape.
– Add 1/2 tsp ghee over it and spread evenly.
– Add the coconut filling and roll as shown.
– Repeat the process for the remaining batter.

Serve hot!
