How to Make Pancakes – Homemade or Shaker Bottle and Savings or Not??

In this video we are looking at the price of making your own pancakes or buying a prepared mix you add water and shake a bottle. We will be looking at price as well as how good they are as noone wants to eat bad pancakes even if its cheaper.

I will also show you have to easily make your own plain pancake mix or buttermilk pancake. By seeing how simple it is hopefully you will want to try it at home.

I will also be reviewing the taste of all 4 pancakes to see which comes out – does homemade taste better than pre-made mix. The brands we will be using are Coles Pancake shake bottle and Greens Buttermilk shake bottle.

welcome to another Shelly’s savingsvideo in this video for our savings ornot we’re actually going to do it onpancakeswhy because today’s Pancake Tuesday so Ithought what I’ll find out is it cheaperto make your own pancakesfor your ingredients oh just to buy theshake mixes and cook it yourself nicelyquick and easy so I’ve already gonethrough and I are taking a wave of thecontainer so then I can weigh them alland get to a measurement that I’llactually be out of price to find outwhich way will be cheaper to do ourpancakes I’m going to be doing fourdifferent mixes so I’m gonna do ahomemade mix of normal pancakes ahomemade mix with buttermilk pancakesand then over here I purchased just ageneric store-brand pancake mix whichyou can get it by the milk from the sameprice and then I got a possible pancakemix with a brand label so we can alsotest that out but we also want to knowdo they taste any good there’s no pointgoing cheaper that doesn’t take any woodso I thought the first thing we need todo is make some pancakes so let’s getstarted now today we’re going to makethese normal everyday pancakes nospecial ingredients my summer in thehigher not these just normal cheapingredients for these so if thesepancakes will have two cups ofself-raising flour one in 3/4 cup ofmilk 1/3 cup of castor sugarand I’ll be using two eggs from mylovely chickens so let’s get this mixedup want My Little Toaster our grill isheating up as I love to use just to domy pancakes as I find it doesn’t get toohot and I get that lovegolden brown so let’s get busy and makesome pancakesnow what am i into when you are makingme expand a cake or a pancake means Ishould have used to be a junk when yougo to add in your milk and your liquiddo it as small amounts give it a meatlet it settle in before you keep addingmore now with pancake mix we will have afew little lumps at the end it’s notthat big an issue it’s nice to lengthenthere you don’t know over mix too much Ithen like to leave my place just to restfor about five to ten minutes so whileyour pans heating up now I pancake mixis done and my pan is ready to go it’sjust a matter of pouring at I mixand letting them cookyounow once you’ve got a few bubbles andyou give you a bit of a dry outside Ilike to then flip them overand as you can see a beautiful Bradcoloring now we’ll just cook the otherside before we conserve okay so I’veleft it at a minute or two you don’tneed to do the other side as much and Inow have my pancakesso these are my creme pancakes sinceyou’ve seen it quite lovely and brownthey’re a nice big size I’m quite happywith them they look pretty lovely nowI’m going to keep one aside so we can doloops between all of them at the end andthen I’m also going to serve one upbeautiful honey don’t give it to mefinal Guinea mom who does honey so Ithought this would be the perfect timeto happen of course pancakes you can doall types of mixtures but I always lovehoney my favoriteokay I taught my taste testjust say could have a look on the insideit’s pretty good actuallyhoneynot that actually like another piece notbad at all so that’s how easy it is tomake homemade pancakes but you can seenot too hard to make homemade pancakesjust a few ingredients at the end of aworkout the price that it cost methrough these pancakes I’ll keep oneaside here so we can have a look andcompare it to the other pancake to makesure they all look lovely because as weknow it’s not just about patch it downbut the taste and the look of yourpancakes so we’ll put this one aside andwe’ll get started on the coalshey hey Meeks okay so we’ve got the coldpancake mix and all we need to do isshake the bottle and loosen it a bit andadd a 350 ml of cold water usually theyhave a muffin here I thought but thisone doesn’t something get a jump andthen shake the bottle and then it shouldbe ready it’s all going to get a jacketwill get stop it okay so I’ve got my 350ml of water like I said when you makethe other pancake mix I recommend allfrom it all in at onceI can’t without it on the water so Iguess now time to really shake it okaythat’s pretty shape I’m gonna just giveit a minute or two of resting before Istart cooking this batch I will say thisone a lot more runnier than the homemadeone so be interesting to see if I get apicnic 20 pancakes but I’ll guess we’llfind outokay so we’ve left this for a whilewe’re gonna heat it back up again solet’s pull some of these cause pancakesseason two bubbled up much quicker thanthe last onesstill have a lovely golden brown colorand I’ll say if they rise now okay soI’ve got the mat turned overand nice and readybeautiful nice brown color under thereyou can see that okay so these are ourpancakesI would dump in the cold meats one guymade me fool the watch I keep doing hometo come up not stock a brown but heywatch it tastes good and notice becausefluffy on either side I’ll be truthfulabout that fantastic the pancakes butthey’re a little rubbery privacy so Ifeed you never want really thin pancakesyou do kind of want them to be a littletoo thick I wish you’re making crepeswould be not crazyso I’ll say take white um I’m gonna stopI think this time we’ll make the UH thisis great I picked up buttermilk pancakemix and we’ll see how that one comes outokay so address all set up off of thegreen feet here now this time I don’tneed to use a job if I don’t want toit’s actually a one line on this one Ican just fill up two however I think I’mjust going to add the amount of stuff sothat way we guarantee that I’ve used theright amount so I can get the propertaste on this one so I’ll get some waterand then we’ll get started okay I’ve gotmy $330 to this one I will say thismakes us a bit more finer than the coalsand then we’ll get facing about breedsand possibility n cakesI can’t reflect it a few minutes okaybig screams okay so we’re just doing upthe other side late nowthis is our green our range buttermilkpancake shaped mix if you under actuallypopped me up a bit better than the coldone so hopefully this would be nice andfluffy on the inside and down tastes abit betterI do find they tend to stick to the pana bit longerokay so again they’re not as Brown butwe’ll compare them to the buttermilkpancakes we make just that’s differentbut again give you an idea he was out atthis one and your different breath[Music]guess it’s kind of the same as the callsme except X be rubbery kind of like it’sright as well and they nice and fluffyup some of us students were talking mymouth I think that’s all yeah they’regreatso again maybe you buy that ten maybeyou could topping on and enjoy that Isay so if I’m enjoying my homemade onenot because I’m a fantastic cook butthey actually taste a bit so Oh so I’llgets it up and we can make ourbuttermilk pancakes okay so I’ve got allthe ingredients together Frankbuttermilk pancakes and I’ve just gotsome very famous buttermilk now beforeyou say yeah but if I make these out tobuy healthier buttermilkyou can’t phrase by the milk get an icecube tray put them in there cream in thefreezer and then you’re a funny littlebunny little pancakesnow this recipes not as much as thefirst recipe we’re looking at one aquarter cup of self-rising flour 1/4 cupof buttermilk quite a cup of castorsugar I call it a cup of Vichy low andan eggso all these togethernow again one thing I noticed right awayto the other meat sensor this one isfeet so I do wonder if maybe you addless liquid to the else shakers maybethey’ll be a bit thicker and fluffierI’m not sure but I want to make everyprojection so we can compare like twolike so now I’m going to leave this tosit for about five minutes or so andthen we’ll get baking our homemadebuttermilk pancakes okay so everybodymeets tell a bitch so it’s time to getbaking out I’m a little pancakesWow definitelyI’m kind of excited to have patience Idon’t know we make buttermilk pancakesI’ll get your close-up so one of thedifferences I’ve already noticed is likemy first batch needs a very peak howeverI don’t know if you’ll be able to see itthe big the mix oops the mix is reallyairing and bubbling and what you canhear itso I’m hoping this will make really nicefluffy buttermilk pancakes I’m kind ofexcited now I’m starting to get somelittle air bubbles even here it’s beenon there for a while I can see dryingaround the edges so I’m gonna flip themcuz I think they’re ready to
