hello and welcome back to barn DIY therecipe we’re doing today is a pancakerecipe and of course we’ve made it intoa very healthy recipe that you can usefor breakfast lunch or dinner in fact wehave it for dinner a lot of times sostay tuned okay so this is what we’regoing to need for this recipe in here Ihave a large bowl this is where all thedry ingredients are gonna go I have oneand a half cups of whole wheat flour and1/2 a cup of barley flour you can usewhite flour but then they’re not reallyhealthy anymore so these actually tastereally good the barley flour makes itvery nutty flavor so it’s nice the restof the dry ingredients that are going togo in here I mixed together in this bowlit is one and a half teaspoons of bakingpowder half a teaspoon of baking sodaand half a teaspoon of salt all the wetingredients are gonna go together inanother Bowl and that’s one in threequarter cup of milk 1 large egg 2tablespoons of butter that we’re gonnameltwe’ll use about 1 tablespoon of honeyand about 1 teaspoon of vanilla extractthat’s gonna go into this bowl we’regonna whisk it together it’s gonna getmixed into the dry ingredients and thenin here 3 large bananas that makes aboutone cup of mashed nice ripe bananasbecause they’re really sweetand this we’re going to fold into itlater on the other things you’re goingto need are a flipper spoon some kind tofold the bananas in and then we like touse a ladle to pour the pancake batterinto the frying pans the frying pans weusually use two at a time just to makeit go faster we spray them with an oilspray and usually one coating of the oilspray is good for the entire backand then we put all of the pancakes in -this is just a tortilla container but wefind when we put them in here put thelid on it keeps them warm while we cookup the rest of Pancakes so let’s getstarted I’m going to start by puttingthe dry ingredients into the flourmixture just give it a little stirI just seem a little like I don’t evenknow what you call it like a littlewhiskput all the wet ingredients into another[Music]egg[Music]oh yeah we’re gonna put the butter intheir butter[Music]so we’re gonna whisk these ingredientstogether and add it to the dryingredients and then we’re gonna pullthe banana in pancake batter is gonna beyour runny batter depending on if youlike your pancakes thicker and fluffieryou want to keep the batter a little bitthicker but if you like them to be thinand kind of flattened out a little inthe pan and you can either add some moremilk or more of the wet ingredients oreven just add a little bit of water youdon’t ever want to stir it too much justenough to incorporate the dry and thewet together and then we’re going tofold in the banana and I’ll keep in mindthe banana is gonna help make it moisttoo so if it’s not a the consistencythat you like this is going to moistenit up as well[Music]we’ve down the right for the banana justhold those in so you don’t over mix it’sa banner because then it becomes kind oflike a chewy really good and that’s itso now we’re gonna do is we’re going topreheat our frying pans to kind of likea medium ish heat and we’re gonna use aladle and we’re going to pour them in Ilike my pancakes pick me fluff somebodyelse likes this pancakes a littleflatter but try to make a little boattime to cook them okay so the pans arepre heated so I’m just gonna add I’mstarting off with obviously this thickbatter you’re gonna just kind of spreadit out a little with the back of theladle you make them as big or as smallas you want[Music]now a little trick with pancakes youjust want to let them sit and you’regonna keep an eye on them and they’regonna start to form some bubbles on thetop when the bubbles start to burstthat’s when you want to use your flipperand just check the bottom now with thesepancakes because they are made of wholewheat flour and arleigh they’re gonegonna be a little darker than yournormal pancake that’s why I’m talkingabout the bubble method here okay so thepancakes are finished and they smellfantastic you can add some other thingsto it which we often do you can putfresh blueberries into the batterchocolate chips into the batter someprotein powder and that adds obviouslyprotein to it but a little moresweetness as well and of course nothingbut the best syrup this syrup is from ohnice Martin who is from st. jacob’scountry and Ontario makes the absolutebest maple syrup and we go straight tohis farm to get it so we’re gonna dosethese with some of this great stuff anddig in and by the way these pancakeshave a boat but about 150 calories andtwo grams of fatthese are done and they’re staring me inthe face and I really want to go eatthem so we’re gonna go have our dinnerthis is gonna be our dinner tonightthanks again for watching if you haven’tsubscribed yet please do you like thisrecipe and want to try more you can trysome on the playlist or on these or theplaylist down below so thanks again fortuning in we’ll see you next time
