Learn how to make sugar cookies with yummy frosting! 🌈 In this tutorial, my daughter Dee and I will show you how to make, bake, and roll out sugar cookies, as well as homemade buttercream frosting for decorating.
This is a great at-home activity to do with young kids as you can teach them a little about math, chemistry, and a little bit of art with the color mixing.
Sugar Cookie Ingredients:
½ cup (one stick, 113 grams) butter, softened
½ cup (100 grams) granulated sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 ½ cups (180 grams) all-purpose flour
¾ tsp baking powder
¼ tsp salt
½ of an egg (beat first, then approximate)
1 ½ TB milk
Frosting Ingredients:
1/4 cup (half stick, 56 grams) butter, softened
2 cups (226 grams) powdered sugar
a pinch of salt
1/2 tsp vanilla or almond extract
2-4 TB milk or heavy cream
a couple drops of Food coloring (optional)
