Its been soo long that i had some merenguitos aka merengue cookies since…my god daughters bday party…but always gives me that nostalgic feeling of being a kid and enjoying that deliciousness. haha. well i tried making them…and here it is.
3 egg whites – room temp is a must if not it will take soo much longer.
1/4 tsp cream of tartar
1 tsp of vanilla or whatever flavor you wish to add.
1 cup of sugar
Preheat oven to 200-215 degrees…depends on your oven.
whisk the egg whites and when it gets frothy you can add cream of tartar
once you see the eggs getting foamy start adding sugar a little bit at a time. like a tablespoon at a time or slowing pouring in while you mix them.
at soft peak stage add your flavoring.
when you got stiff peaks its ready to put into a pipping bag or ziplock bag whatever you wish.
when pipping on the pan please be sure to add 4 little dots to lay the parchment paper on so it holds it in place.
Place in preheated oven for 60 – 90 minutes
75-crispy outside chewy inside
90- dehydrated and crispy all over.
