hi I’m Kathy Overman Tracey House chefand Tim’s kitchen and Wakeman town farmtoday’s recipe is a banana oatmealchocolate chip cookie and it’s superhealthy and very kid-friendly to makethe best banana to use is an overripebrown banana but you can use an unripeor yellow banana as well the easiest wayto get it out of the skin is to gentlypush it in its skin before you open itthat will help release it from its skinand give you a head start on the mushingprocess I have one already in the bowlhere and I’m just using the back of myfork to help get it into a moreemotional state if you will you’llnotice that the banana as you stir itgets very loose and almost a liquidstate this will be the base of ourbatter and so to this we’re going to add1/2 cup of rolled oats 1/4 cup ofchocolate chips I prefer the minichocolate chips but any chocolate chipwill do we’re also going to add a pinchof salt and a half a teaspoon ofcinnamon then the only liquid we’readding is one teaspoon of vanillathis will help combine the oats and thebanana and give it that nice batterconsistencyit also helps bring out the flavor ofthe banana so you can see that this is avery quick process that children evenyou know 2 or 3 or 4 years old can makethese cookies which is really great andyou want to make sure that your oven isset to 350 you can use it on aconvection bake or a regular bake itdoesn’t matter okay this batter islooking good and it’s ready to go on oursheet pan now I have lined my sheet panwith a soap lat you could also useparchment paper or you can just use aspray grease or a little butter rubbedon it but you do need something underunder these cookies or they will stickso these guys are very easy to make I’mjust portioning out six cookies onebanana willgenerally make six five to six cookiesso you can see that they’re very rusticlooking at first but then we’re gonnause the fork to mush them into a circleto make them more cookie like and it’svery important that you use the back ofthe fork to get them into one even layerfor baking so just like that and you cansee how quickly this goes it’s very fastit’s be done in less than a minute whichis great and the cookies take about 10to 15 minutes to bake depending on youroven and whether you have convection orregular bake going the convectionsetting will cook a little bit fasterokay here we areand our cookies are ready to go in theoven and by the magic of iPhone videotog Rafi it’s going into the oven and wehave some already done I’ll just pullthose out and you can see how beautifulthese are now you want them to bakeuntil they’re just browned around theedges here like these and you want tolet them cool obviously less slightlyjust so that you don’t burn your tonguewhen you try to eat them and here is ourcookie they’re absolutely deliciouscheck out our website Wakeman town farmorg for our next video hope to see yousoon back at the farm
