Saylem’s Chocolate Chip Cookies
1 cup Melted Butter
1 cup Sugar
1 cup Dark Brown Sugar
2 Large Eggs
2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract
1.5 cups Bread Flour
1.5 cups All Purpose Flour
1/2 teaspoon Salt
1/2 teaspoon Espresso Powder
1.5 teaspoons Baking Soda
2 teaspoons Hot Water
I used 2cups of semi sweet chocolate chips and 1cup of chopped dark chocolate in my Chocolate Chip Cookies. Add any type of chocolate and however much you like 🙂
Set oven to 350°
Prepare your baking pan(s) I like to line my pan(s) with parchment paper
Melt butter. Cream together sugar and dark brown sugar. Mix in eggs, vanilla, salt, espresso powder and baking soda (add the hot water to the baking soda and stir together well)
Sift in the flour and mix well. You can add the majority of your chocolate before the flour is fully incorporated. Finish mixing in the chocolate. Scoop the dough on to your prepared pans in 1.5″ balls (you can lightly flatten the balls of dough to encourage even spreading)
Bake for 12-14min . Mine bake for 12mins and I place the oven rack so that it is in the middle of the oven. This helps ensure even baking.
Typically makes 4 dozen large Chocolate Chip Cookies. Depending on the size you prefer to make, you could make more!
I like to keep my baked cookies inside an airtight container in the fridge. The dough freezes well wrapped and sealed well for later baking. Bring the dough to room temperature before baking.
