I’ve had my sourdough/wild yeast starter for about a month or so now. A friend of mine made the starter and shared some with me!
I’ve been making bread with a bread machine and and to be honest, sourdough bread is a little bit intimidating! I mean I’ve made the no knead artisan bread before and that was just so easy and yummy!! Why would I venture out to the sourdough bread world? So I just made little snacks with the sourdough discard instead of making bread. Then a couple of weeks ago, a friend called me out and told me to stop wasting my starter on snacks and make some bread instead :p So I did, and guess what? It’s not that difficult to make! It takes a long time. A lot of time.
This is only my second loaf of sourdough/wild yeast bread so it’s definitely not perfect, but it sure was tasty!
My starter is actually a wild yeast starter, but I’ve adapted to a sourdough recipe instead. The first time I made it, I followed the recipe to the t! This time, I just eyed it and made adjustments according to how the dough looked/felt :p Glad I didn’t screw it up.
Here’s the original recipe:
Have you tried making sourdough bread before? Got any good recipes? Please share them with me as I am now officially addicted to bread making!
