How to Make Marbled Banana Bread

Marbled Banana Bread

Ingredients:
– 2 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips
– 3/4 cup all purpose flour
– 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
– 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
– 1/2 teaspoon salt
– 2-3 very ripe bananas
– 2/3 cup sugar
– 1/4 cup oil (I used canola)
– 2 eggs
– 1/2 cup buttermilk
– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350°
2. Spray and flour loaf pan
3. Melt chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl in 30 second intervals.
4. Start mixing the dry ingredients: Combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
5. Mix the wet ingredients: In a separate bowl mash the bananas and combine with the sugar. Next mix in the oil, and eggs (one at a time).
6. Add half of the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients and mix together until just combined. Repeat with the other half.
7. Add buttermilk and vanilla extract and stir.
8. Make the chocolate batter: Grab the melted chocolate (it should be slightly cooled but still melted). Make sure the chocolate isn’t too hot as combining it with the batter could scramble the eggs!
9. Add one cup of batter into chocolate and mix completely.
10. Pour a base layer of plain batter into the loaf pan, and begin layering the chocolate and plain batter.
11. Grab a toothpick and swirl the two batters together to create the marbled design. (Make careful not to over mix in order to create a beautiful pattern.)
12. Bake for about 45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
13. Cool for about 10 min and enjoy!
