How to make Bread Upma.

Bread Upma

Servings – 2 – 3

INGREDIENTS
Brown bread – 150 grams
Oil – 15 milliliters
Cashews – 1 tablespoon
Oil – 2 tablespoons
Mustard seeds – 1 teaspoon
White lentils – 1 teaspoon
Curry leaves – 1 tablespoon
Asafoetida – 1/4 teaspoon
Ginger paste – 1 teaspoon
Green chili – teaspoon
Onions – 100 grams
Salt – 1 teaspoon
Sugar – 1 teaspoon
Tomato – 200 grams
Bell pepper – 50 grams
Turmeric – 1/4 teaspoon
Paprika – 1 teaspoon
Water – 60 milliliters
Lemon juice – 1 tablespoon

PREPARATION
1. Take a 150 grams brown bread slices and cut into cubes. Keep a side.
2. Heat 15 milliliters oil in a pan, add brown bread cubes and toast the bread until crispy.
3. In a another pan, add 1 tablespoons cashews and saute until golden brown.
4. Heat 2 tablespoons oil n a heavy skillet, add 1 teaspoon mustard seeds, 1 teaspoon white lentils and saute until the dal turns lightly golden.
5. Add, 1 tablespoon curry leaves, 1/4 teaspoon asafoetida, 1 teaspoon ginger paste, 1 teaspoon green chili, and saute until they turn crisp.
6. Now, add 100 grams onions and fry till translucent or until it turns golden brown in color.
7. Add 1 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon sugar and mix it well.
8. Then add 200 grams tomato and saute until it turns soft and pulpy.
9. Add 50 grams bell pepper and mix it.
10. Cover it with lid and cook for 5 – 7 minutes.
11. Now, add 1/4 teaspoon turmeric, 1 teaspoon paprika and mix it.
12. Then add 60 milliliters water, roasted cashews, toasted bread cubes and mix it well to combine.
13. Cover it with lid and cook for 5 minutes.
14. Now, ad 1 tablespoon lemon juice and mix.
15. Garnish with coriander.
16. Serve.
