Ingredients used
Breadfruit/Ukwa
Onions
palm oil
Dried smoked fish
Scotch bonnet
Salt seasoning cube

To make your Ukwa/breadfruit soft fast, when your Ukwa starts boiling cut an onion bulb into 4
chunks drop all 4 part into the breadfruit. Sprinkle in a little quantity of salt into the breadfruit. This will make it soft in few minutes.

English as African breadfruit (Tanzania, Zambia, Uganda)breadfruit in (Nigeria), wild jackfruit (Tanzania, Uganda)and African boxwood (Malawi). Many names are given to this species; In the Igbo language in Eastern part of Nigeria, it’s is called is Ukwa.

Studies have shown that breadfruit comes with lots of essential vitamins and minerals like beta-carotene, vitamin c, and folic acid (folate). Like other tropical delicacies, Ukwa is rich in vital B-complex groups of vitamins, thiamin, pyridoxine and niacin.
