Cheese and Herb Bread – Made with Plain Flour – Prepared and baked under 45 minutes.

This unusual bread is prepared using Plain Flour and Yogurt without the need for the dough to rise. It can be prepared and baked under 45 minutes using little ingredients.

You can substitute the fillings with any type of cheese with any herbs you fancy and desire.

I used a 23 cm Springform cake pan but you can use any oven proof dish provided you layer the bottom with baking sheet.

Ingredients for the bread:
1 Cup Plain Yogurt
3 Cups Plain Flour
1 shot glass (3 Tablespoon oil)
1 Egg
1 Tablespoon sugar
1 Teaspoon salt
1 Tablespoon Baking Powder

For the Filling:
120g Halloumi / Hellim (or any hard cheese you prefer)
50g Chedar Cheese
1/2 bunch of Parsley (any other herbs like mint , corriander will also do)

Methos
Separate Egg white into a bowl. Keep the egg yolk for later use.
Add the yogurt into the egg white then add oil, sugar and salt and whisk until cream consistency.
In a separate bowl place the flour and the baking powder and mix.
Now add the flour to the yogurt Mixture , 2 SPOONS at a TIME and mix. Continue adding the flour and mixing until all the flour is used.
You should have a soft and non-sticky dough.
Lightly oil a baking paper and layer the bottom of a 23cm Springform cake pan. ( You can use any other oven dish, layering the bottom with baking paper)
Prepare the filling by grating the cheeses and coarsely chopping parsley.
Divide the dough into 2 and with lightly greased finger tips push the dough between your palm and until flat, then pull and stretch it big enough to layer the pan
Pour the cheese onto the bottom layer.
Prepare the top layer with the other half of the dough covering the top of the cheese. Lightly oil your finger tips and press the bottom and the top layers of the dough together to form a seal.
Brush with egg yolk and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
Bake in a preheated oven at 180C for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
Enjoy your bread.
