hi guys it’s Radha welcome back to
my channel guys if you are new herewelcome I’m right huh uh clearly haha if
you are his seasoned Virata familymember welcome back guys today we are
making banana bread don’t know whyputting up the p-side but anyway I’m
making this recipe I have never madebanana bread before it’s clearly a thing
okay YouTube thing maybe it’s importantto you thing I’m not sure but if you’re
here like me in quarantine you know whatwe’re gonna do this today I’m making
Chrissy Teigan recipe obviously we’regonna do her recipe because she was
Chrissy Teigen she has a book out arecipe book so we know she’s legit right
so hopefully this is not fail uh um Ihope you guys are having a fun time in
quarantine whatever you are doing ifit’s not fun hopefully it’s just
manageable because you know I meanthat’s important right about now trying
to manage blood anyway most importantlywell I want to get started but before I
get started you might hear some bangingnoises my neighbor is building a deck I
knowLong Island problems and so I don’t know
when that bunny is going to end he hasbeen at it for hours and I have to
respect that kind of workmanship I meanthat’s just I don’t know that’s that’s
amazing because I love home projects ifyou didn’t already know
uh-huh so guys I am going to bring youdown so you can see all of the
ingredients and you may not see me asmuch okay because my camera can only do
so much okaywell let’s get started alrighty guys so
we’ve got quite a few ingredients hereso we’re gonna go through them which are
we need four large eggs okay I alwaysbuy large I never understood like small
or whatever all we need two-thirds ofcanola oil we need two cups of
all-purposeokay we also need two cups of sugar we
need one 3.5 ounce box of vanillainstant pudding mix we need one teaspoon
of baking soda we need one and a halfteaspoons of kosher salt I don’t have
that here but not a big deal one cup ofunsweetened shredded coconut I literally
had to wait like a week and a half toget this bad boy I bought this on Amazon
so this was kind of hard to track down Idon’t know if you guys know this but
while in quarantine everybody and theirmother is baking so baking supplies are
not easily you know easily easily youknow what I mean okay
and one 3.5 ounce bar of dark chocolatechopped into chunks so 3.5 1/2 1 well
this is this is 1 ounce and then this isso I have 2 ounces of dark chocolate I
think that should be enough though andthis is Godiva
so hopefully Godiva makes up for likeany of the other cheaper brands where
you would need more because Godiva isjust so rich and amazing in every
possible wayalready and I also have my beautiful
baking pan guys I basically forgot I hadthis it’s in my zombie cabinet which is
a cabinet that I’m too short to reach soI finally remembered that I have it and
saw it on accident and is going to useit right now and then the last thing you
need is Moscato I was actually giventhis by my neighbor today so yeah this
is not part of the recipe but you know Ilike to drink while I work so Cheers okoh and one did I show you this already
or the most important part XR which is 2cups of mashed bananas now they have to
be very ripe ladies and gentlemen I havenever kept bananas that look like this I
mean if this is not very ripe I don’tknow what it’s okay they say that that’s
about 6 bananas I have 5 so I think thatshould be enough fingers crossed
ladies and gentlemen okay all right solet’s get started so you have to heat
the oven to 325 degrees that is done andthen in a large bowl combine the mashed
bananas oh my gosh these are just supermashed on every level I mean I mean they
feel pretty mash so so where’s my largebowl one second let me go get that just
a minute so combining the mashed bananaseggs and oil in a bowl so first let’s
combine these mashed bananas that arehonestly freaking me out because they’re
just way too ripeI don’t know I but apparently they need
to be this mashed because if they’re notthen you’re you’re basically not going
to be able to mash them like they needto be this ripe so that you can actually
match them I don’t know I I figure youcan still mash non ripe bananas but that
couldn’t be me I’m not a professionalchef guys and I’m not gonna pretend to
be because that would be wastingeveryone’s time like I mean really but I
do like cooking though I mean I just Ireally enjoy it I also feel like it’s
therapeutic and it’s important I meanknowing how to cook is really an
important skillI think that’s a real life skill one of
these days I’m going to learn how todrive another important life skill that
I haven’t gotten to quite yet okay wellthese guys are just literally falling
off here like men down all the time okaythat’s a lot of bananas I don’t know how
big this recipe is gonna be because Ihaven’t actually seen it on the other
side for a little long me it might be alot I’m just sayin all right so then now
we do the oil I’m gonna put the oil inlet’s measure that so the oil is 2/3 of
a cup so I always like to add a littleextra oil because well you know makes it
more moist I hate like dry cupcakestrike cakes dry anything like I hate
that so the trick to that is add alittle extra oil baby okay I’m actually
going to break the eggs in here just incase any any of the actual like shell
comes out that way that way it doesn’tgo into the pan and mix with everything
else you can never be too careful ladiesand gentlemen can never be too careful
Oh break me break me off a piece of thatis that a shell that is a shell that we
got there you see what I’m talking aboutyou see what I’m talking about
whoa that was a little rough there aboutsorry about that I apologize that was
none as’ I mean I know that wasall right so we’re gonna put this in all
good to goall right so that’s one part down
let me grab this salt in one secondI also use well I love this salt but I
think you know what for the purpose ofthis since I don’t have kosher salt I’m
going to get I have sea salt we’ll usethatokay so I have that and then the digit
so in a separate Bowl I need to combinethe flour sugar mix pudding mix baking
soda and salt all right let’s do thatall right making a huge mess excellenttwo cups of this I don’t know the last
time I use flourbeen a while a lot already been here for
now whoa that’s a lotall right kind of running out of bowls
here sugar so two cups of sugar I don’tthink this is all gonna fit honestly we
might have a slight problem I think wemight have a slight problem
so two cups I mean two cups needs a lotof sugar is that I mean that’s what it
says I don’t know but basically thewhole thing here it’s like that’s it but
yeah two cup of sugar okayso we’ll put you in another Bowl for now
okay I feel like I’m already like I’malready about to have a problem because
I don’t have enough cups and bowlsthey’re all somewhere right now god only
knowsand then this I’m going to use the whole
thing because this is essentially it’sonly off by half an ounce that I need so
I wonder what this pudding does wonderwhat it does to make it this is just add
flavor or you know does it like can Ijust combine all of this together and
one thing like what’s the differenceI need one teaspoon of baking soda oh
it’s like right hereall right I don’t know if it’s a good
idea or not to drink but whatever so Iwish there was like a side opening this
is what happens when you shop genericbrands because but let me just say like
I don’t know lots of the brands that Inormally like are not available right
nowOh No so one teaspoon is like it’s not
the whole spoon a little less than thatmaybe like that add that in there all
right and then any other dry ingredientsbut the exception of the saltokay so combine the mashed potatoes eggs
and all we did that separate whole sugarpowder mix some salt add the dry
ingredients to the wet ingredients andcombine well but yet why didn’t you just
let me do that at first anyway let’sjust I think I should match the UM match
the bananas in first though I thinkthat’s a good idea
we’re learning as we go people okaywe’re learning as we go so let’s mash
that in first and it’s something aboutcombine they say combine gently like I’m
like okay so combine it gentlyI’m not gonna lie this is getting like
super moist right now so I mean I’m intoit not gonna lie to you
it’s already with the egg the way thatit looks in here it just looks like it’s
like already already making somethingthat I’m I’m gonna enjoy hopefully so
we’re gonna add the flour in there okayso gently so gently
do I need any water it’s looking kind ofdry no no water okay so I guess no
matter all rightit’s definitely it’s getting gooey okay
it’s getting real gooey herewell this this will give you a run for
your money like give your arm or my armis already broken it just feels like
semi broken but not a hundred percentbroken you’re not I mean
like so cute we so we’re still cute uphere okay then I’ll combine the sugar
the pudding mix and the light bakingsuper where’s my little spoon right I
have to be honest it’s instant puddingmix is making this thing smell really
good alreadyso like I’m really into it and it
already is smelling good I’m just alittle nervous because it’s like super
dried and as far as like the salt goes Imean out a bit of that nowcome onare we working where’s my spoon my spoon
was just with me Oh hanging out overthere okay I think that’s enough what do
you think all right oh nothing broke yetso we’re in good shape
okay that was looking real yellow ladiesand gentleman like super yellow here
okay and it’s it’s it’s not bad actuallyonce you take your time with it and you
you know you’re going in it’s like realgooey it’s nice when it’s dry as you
would think once you combine everythingproperly
I swear to God if this is not turn outgood a week so sad now let’s see what
elseso do they do they do
okay so fold in the coconut and the andthe chunks okay so let’s open up the
coconut and let’s two cups two cups twocups of this bad boy shredded coconut no
one cup oh shitthat’s not good okay that’s what we’ll
figure it out so then I have to leaveone cup back in here
good thing I double-checked cuzeverything is like two cups I was like
well maybe this is two cups tooI know that wasn’t the smartest thing
but it’s really cute to see this coconutcome together in here it smells super
good even though it’s unsweetened Wowsmelling really good and then these
chocolate chunksI feel like this recipe this is the
perfect thing because it’s justbasically like opens up and jumps
I feel like this recipes is basicallymade so you can kill yourself like it’s
like a short-term weight up like go goto heaven because it’s all these
ingredients I don’t know it’s kind ofreally fattening but I mean alright
you’re not a mainline okay that’s fineit’s very thick I’m kind of wondering if
it’s supposed to be this thick as far aslike the chunks in here you know because
it’s nothing on like a cake batterso let’s stir vigorously for two minutes
here okay guys I have greased the panhere and I think I have chunked this bad
boy as much as I can so now I’m going topour it in alright let’s seeI hope this is the right size fan
because God helped me if it’s not let’ssweep out the excess here because this
is a lot a lot left over there’sdefinitely more than looks like it needs
to be uh needs to be like you know youknow everything it’s just we’re all that
around one more time Wizkid that’s theword I was looking for why don’t I
remember the word of whisk it been along day okay and doing a lot of things
today I know that’s no excuse but youknow what I think that’s enough all
right now and when you’re looking offthe edges here try to make it look
presentable okay because this is rodHaas
you know chef kitchen who’s not clearlynot a chef okay look play no games and
now we are going to take this everythingit’s a lot all right let’s pull this bad
boy out it’s currently bent on thepreheat mode okaywant to grab this concoction okay
we are going to put it inI like to put it in the middle I don’t
know why but I do think that’s goodclose it up and then we are gonna put it
on the face all right 50 minutes twentyminutes uh kin it’s looking not bad but
not cooked so we have about 18 minutesleft okay guys this is it
at actually an hour I still think it hasto cook a little more but this house
smells so good and this really does looklike legit banana cake like it’s
browning up really nice but itdefinitely needs some more time so I put
the timer on to like about another 10minutes and I am super excited partly
because I was drinking and also partlybecause like I feel like it really came
up nicenow something to notice that I didn’t
have a regular dark bundt pan so the panthat I used I think made it take longer
to bake so it ended up taking about anhour and 20 minutes okay there’s the
timer okay okay it’s time to show it toyou so hold on hold it right there and
I’m gonna show it to you outsidesometimes I’m super excited but still
calm and collectedokay a lot of mukada guys I love MoscatoI definitely something else to hold this
bad boy because I only have one minuteone minute I don’t know why I did not
buy two minutes at williams-sonoma okayhold on hold on when you grab the tip
napkinonce that napkin one side
muffin not muffin glove same thing guysguys look look how cool it Brown it is
oh that’s hot okay that’s hot that’sreal hot all right let me bring you downlook at her guys look at her okay she is
oh no that’s not the right way damn itokay okay she’s really golden okay
now okayI’m gonna slice into her unless you work
it with here okayshe sliced it in really well okay okay I
have a fork I have a fork okay so and bythe way it’s just me here so it’s just
me that’s gonna be taste testing this soyou know like hold onI mean who I’m real close to you are not
all rightI don’t know if you want me that close
but okay it’s what I really wanted tryit
Oh God believe this good because I don’tknow why this means a lot to me I feel
like I’m winning an Academy Award rightnow and I’m like record this is very
important so this is just my motherwoman okay try not to eat it because
it’s better now let me cool it down isthat that do it somethingthat’s good that’s good I take the
coconut I’ll take the chocolate thechocolate gives it like a very Swedish
flavor I also definitely take the bananabut you know what the banana is not too
heavy I feel like with all those damnbananas oh it’s like is it too much okay
up and I know you’re on the dick youjust finish the timer but it’s really
good actually I’m glad that I have toshare it’s just so how they did it so
now I can highly recommend some recipe Ican also write them any that you have if
you have to improvise just a little bitfor whatever reason like I did it will
work out and Chrissy Teigan girlthis recipe is amazing I think I have to
