Homemade sourdough loaf using my yeast starter (made from scratch)
Ingredients:
3 cups white bread flour
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 or 1 cup of yeast starter
1 & 3/4 cup lukewarm water
Method:
Stir ingredients together to form a sticky dough.
Place a dish towel over the bowl and leave overnight (18 hours) to rise.
Bake bread in a ‘dutch oven’ – this is a cast iron pot heated in the oven (on highest temp) for 30min before baking the bread.
Carefully place bread dough into the hot pot and bake in the oven with lid on for 25min – after 25min take lid off and bake for a further 15min until crisp golden brown.
