right hello once again today I’m goingto do something that I haven’t donebefore and let’s cook a loaf of bread inthe convection oven now I wasn’t able tobuy yeast from the supermarket becauseit’s in fairly short supply at themoment so I got one of these commercialbread mixes in the packet which is readyto go you can see this one is multigrainsoy and linseed and it’s got the flourand the yeast in the packet and all youneed to do is add water to it and we’llsee how it goesokay I’ve now opened the packet of breadmix and inside the first packet is theflour and you can see the grainsscattered throughout the flour and nextto that is the sachet of dry yeast nowall I need to do is put the flourmixture into a bowl with the prescribedamount of water and add 2 teaspoons ofthe dry yeast you then mix that up thenknead it on a board for at least 10minutes and you set it aside to rise for40 minutes and put something like a teatowel over the bowl so that it doesn’tform a skin on itokay so I’ll come back a bit later andI’ll show you what it looks like onceI’ve mixed it all up and kneaded it okayI’ve now completed the step where I’vemixed up the flour yeast and water andI’ve needed it for 10 minutes actually Idid a little bit more than 10 minutesprobably about 12 minutes it says on thebox the the more that you need it thebetter your bread comes out so you cansee it in the bowl there and I’ll nowcover it with a tea towel and leave itfor 40 minutes for it to rise and I’llcome back and I’ll show you what itlooks like then okay 40 minutes is nowpassed and the bread has risenconsiderably in the bowl the next stageis to take it out of the bowl and placeit on this board that I’ve put someflour on and you then knead it lightlyand then let it sit in a warm place outof a draft and it should double in sizeokay we’ll come back and have a look atthat right I’m now at the stage whereI’ve given the bread a light kneadingthis is called degassing the bread andI’ve shaped it into the shape that Iwant now this is the stage that youwould put it into an oil bread tin ifyou’d wish but I want to cook it in theshape of like a Vienna loaf so I’ve mademine this shape and I’m going to cook itnot actually in the tin so it’s reallyoptional if you want to cook it in thetin that’s totally up to youso we’ll now leave it now for um for atime to allow it to rise again and I’llput the cloth over it so it doesn’t getthe hard skin on it and you keep it in awarm spot and keep it out in many draftsokay the bread is now completed it’srising process and it’s increased quitea lot in size so probably at leastprobably about double to what it was andas I said before I’m going to cook minein this type of shape because I want therustic sort of Vienna sort of shape soit should would open a little bit whenit’s cooked I would say so pretty muchlike this one that’s on the front of theboxokay so I’ll now transfer it across tothe convection oven at 200 degreesCelsius and it takes around about 30minutes okay there’s the bread in theconvection oven and it’s ready to startthe cooking process now so you can seeit in there and I’ve placed it on apiece of baking paper because it’s juston the lower metal rack okay we’ll comeback and we’ll show you how it’sprogressing during the cooking processright the breads now been in theconvection oven for about 15 minutesand let’s take a look in here and seeit’s risen quite substantially so it’s alot larger than when it first weddingand you can see the oven here and see itset for 200 degrees Celsius and onceagain as a lot of people ask me about myoven being halogen you can see it’s atotally electric element in therethere’s the element up there so no lightout of there so not elegant at all it’stotally an electric element ok thecooking time is finished so it’s time tohave a look insideand there’s your bread so that lookspretty good doesn’t it so I’ll now takeit out and put it leave it on the rackto to cool and then I’ll cut a slice foryou ok here’s the finished product afterI’ve sliced the bread and it’s comingout absolutely perfectly so you can seeit there it’s cooked right through niceand crusty on top see it’s quitetempered it’s got that hollow soundwhich is what you want when you cookbreads another really good result fromthe LD conviction oven so yes to answerthe question that a lot of mysubscribers have been asking yes you candefinitely cook bread in a convectionoven ok thanks for watching hope to seeyou again soonthen check out my other videos as wellas some other really interesting onesthere especially the mashed potato onethat’s a great method will save yourhoops a time ok thanks for watching bye
