Learn about fractions in this episode on The World of Swynn, where Sydney attempts to bake chocolate chip cookies after learning about fractions in her kindergarten math class at Gigi’s house. Find out if they taste good in this short video clip we made during the quarantine!
Below are the instructions to bake the cookies yourself, if you dare… See if you can use fractions this chocolate chip cookie receipe with your family at home!
Baking Instructions:
In a bowl, whisk together:
1 1/2 cups of all purpose flower
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
In a separate bowl, whisk together:
3/4 of a cup of brown sugar
1/2 of a cup of granulated sugar
Whisk these ingredents into the bowl of combined sugars:
1/2 a cup of melted butter
1 egg
1 egg yoke
2 1/2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
Whisk until smooth.
Add half of the flower mixture to the egg sugar, mix until combined.
Then add the rest of the flower mixture. MIX, BUT BE GENTLE!!
Chop 6 ozs of chocolate
Fold chocolate together gently into the Mix
Cover with saran wrap for 20 minutes chilled in the fridge
Set the oven to 350 degrees.
Baking sheet + Parchment paper
Scoop cookie dough into consistent sizing balls
Make sure there is lots of space between each cookie
Bake for 12 – 15 minutes or until golden brown Gently
Add a little bit of flaky salt
Let them cool and enjoy!!!!!
