Pumpkin Pie Straight from the Pumpkin! Bake with Me!



Make pumpkin puree from scratch! It can be used in many ways, but in this video we made pumpkin pie with it!

Ingredients List:

Pumpkin Puree
– Pie pumpkin
– Oil
– 1 can condensed milk
– 3/4 cup brown sugar
– 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
– 1/2 tsp ground ginger
– 1/2 tsp nutmeg

Pumpkin Seeds
– Seeds from the pumpkin
– 1 TBS butter (I used more in the video, but don’t remember how much)
– Salt to taste

hi I’m Ginny a knight and today we are
going to be making pumpkin pie straight
from the pumpkin so you guessed it we
need some pumpkins I’m going to cut
these in half and take all the seeds and
gunk out of them and bake them pumpkin
is my guess
could you imagine now that I’ve made a
proper mess these pumpkins are hollowed
out I will put oil in them put them face
down on a baking sheet and have them
bake for about 25 minutes hello so this
is the audio version of me the football
game is on so a lot of this is going to
be muted so I’m just gonna use the audio
so this is after being in the oven for
35 minutes and I’m just making sure
they’re soft but since they’re out of
the oven it’s time for a seed
intermission I could let the seeds go to
waste so with a mixture of butter and
salt I am throwing them right on this
baking sheet spreading them out into a
single-file line
well it’s more of like a guerilla
formation but you know whatever and
putting them right into the oven for 45
minutes it’s been a while since I’ve
baked seeds so I was a little surprised
by the time but I forgot it took so long
but once it’s done you want them to be
golden brown if they’re not golden brown
like this you should put them in a
little longer mmm
crunch crunch crunch crunch just gotta
believe me there’s a beautiful crunch
and pumpkin seeds so now we are done
with the seed intermission and we’re
back to the pumpkin so I’m skinning the
pumpkin if you need any reference I
suggest watching the rated our version
of Phantom of the Opera it is a great
way to learn how to properly you know
skin a pumpkin so we are going to dice
this because it’ll be better on the
Kitchen Aid I am using a KitchenAid even
though a blender is better because we
don’t have a large blender and this is a
lot of pumpkin puree so that so this is
mine you should do this for a blender
too so now we’re going to
I’ll smack this into next week literally
because there is so much extra pumpkin
puree and we are going to add a can of
condensed milk as well as half a
teaspoon of cinnamon nutmeg and ginger
and 3/4 of a cup of cinnamon sugar
sorry brown sugar brown sugar and we are
going to paddle smack that a little more
until it looks like baby vomit once it
looks like baby vomit you know it is
complete and ready to be put into your
pie shell I will say that I bought my
pie shell because I absolutely suck at
making crust even my mom says she
doesn’t like my crust and my mom is my
numero uno cheerleader so unsere pie
crust is completely filled with the
pumpkin puree make sure you admire it
from all angles before you put it into
the oven for 40 minutes I suggest
putting the pie pan onto a baking sheet
because once it was done I struggled for
about 20 seconds trying to pick it up
with the fear of the pan collapsing on
me or my thumb just going straight into
the pie so I would definitely suggest
doing that and now I’m going to stab the
pumpkin after this beautiful zoom out
mm mm to see if it is ready it is not
ready
so I’m putting I put it in for 10 more
minutes you want the knife to come out
clean at least 2 inches from the crust I
do not know why the center doesn’t
matter but for some reason it does not
but look at this beautiful cutting of
the pie YUM and look at that twirl
look at that twirl around that pie as
you can see it looks a little strand II
and that’s because I did it with a
KitchenAid instead of a blender
this is the pie after a couple of days
it looks to have solidified a little bit
more let’s have a little taste test just
a little just a little bit just a little
there we go that’s good
hmm it’s really good this is my first
time ever making pie straight from the
pumpkin and since we didn’t have a
blender it’s a little strand II but I’m
like the kind of person who likes
textures and I like I’m like I like
Bulba
I like coconut shreds and drinks I like
all kinds of like textured things so
this is like right down my alley if you
