How To Make Lemon Meringue Pie

This one of my favorite pies that is made from scratch, hope you try it and share.

Lemon curds
– 1 cup sugar
– 6 tablespoons cornstarch
– 1/4 teaspoon salt
– 1 1/2 cups water
– 1/2 cup lemon juice
– 2 tablespoons lemon zest
– 4 egg yolks
– 2 tablespoons unsalted butter

Pie crust

– 1 cup flour
– 1/2 teaspoon salt
– 1/4 cup shortening
– 3 to 4 tablespoons water
– 9 inch greased pie plate
Bake pie shell for 10 to 15 minutes at 350 f

Meringue

– 4 egg whites
– 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
– 1/2 cup fine sugar
– 1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Bake pie for 20 minutes at 325 f or tips are golden brown.
