I hope you’re hungry this morning Amerin the kitchen with Chef Dean Levine ofdelightful desserts and the southernfood and beverage museum and what are wedoing well we are decorating Christmascookies this is awesome okay so take methrough it what’s the first step soobviously the first step is making thecookies but we already did that I’vedone that I’ve made this very verysimple so we’re gonna decorate themwe’re gonna do gingerbread men so I havesome some little samples here what we’regoing to do so you’re gonna do theoutline and then what you wanna dothat’s right blue right here I’m gonnause my pastry bag I find that it’seasier for me so just the outline is thekey first that’s right and you can startwherever you want and you actually got acouple of these cookies actually a wholelot of these cookies hanging asornaments there is is that right I do soI got the opportunity to bake more than200 cookies for 12 trees inside thewindows of the ritz-carlton on CanalStreet those are non edible acting onlyI would suggest not eating them to anyof the staff if you’re watching don’ttry to eat any of those cookies butthese ones are of course boy and they’relooking delicious gingerbread first stepis done okay now we’re gonna go in withthe eyes and then the mouth so you’rejust gonna make two little dollops forthe eyes and squeeze it on there that’svery easy a little smile for the mouth Imean you can add all sorts ofpersonality he could court he can be alittle pensive if you watch us wailingthat’s kind of cute okay and then we’regonna go in with the buttons so I startcloser to the bottom and the boys onlyhave three buttons girls usually havetwo buttons okayand then we finish with the bow whatcolor would you prefer I’m an ogre Ineed a red bow it’s gonna pop quitenicely so you’re gonna turn it over andyou’re gonna add a little bit of icingto the bank to make sure that when youpop him on in the neck area could alsodo it is a bow tiethere you go we gotta stick that on justlike that and that’s our little it’sreally fun to do with kids of courseit’s fun to do with adults too you canget a little bit tricky with adults butit’s a great activity and at the end ofthe day you get to eat them deliciouslet’s do another one you got any otherdesigns up your sleeve we got a staryeah we could do something a little bitchallenging so this star we usually makea snowflake out of ah it’s the samething to the perimeter first you can dothat so we’ll do that obviously I’mgoing to be going just a little bitfaster than you I mean you are aprofessional I write so then we’re gonnago ahead and make a sinner with somelines oh that’s cool people at home aredefinitely laughing at the challenge I’mdoing this to help oh and we’re able toimpress some of his friends decoratesome Christmas cookies and so you fromthere you just kind of go yep and you doit right into the center so it’s a fivepoint star so you’ll always have onelittle extra line people might be rightup your alleyI’m just taking and making like onelittle ball and pulling it down in thev-shape okay and when you put themtogether it almost makes a little heartwell I think yours is just a tad betterbut I’m getting there okay we just needmore practice I think I like mygingerbread it’s very cute very adorableappreciate it thank you so much forjoining us we’ve got some informationhere chef DS Christmas cookies are ondisplay at the holiday display at theRitz Carlton Hotel on Canal Street youcan always find her on social media ofcourse her Facebook and Instagrampages are there on your screendelightful cupcakes how can you missthem thank you so much for joining us wereally appreciate it and we’ll be rightback[Music]
